Betta tube hi - I remove the bowl and then submerge in a fish tank with oxygen and no filtration. I put a small dose of M&F into the water - nothing else. Hatch rate is good !

Razwan Riaz place the bowl in a tank submersed and add oxygen not to strong flow - no need for chemical - maybe small amount of methylene blue if you like but plenty will hatch anyway. Takes about a week depending on the water temp.

Same thing happened to me. I got the steps too late. At least the naturally spawned eggs hatched from my water hyacinth and hornwort. 1. Hand breed 2. After 10 minutes, change the water 3. Add new water, and add methylene blue 4. And add an airstone, air pump.

@@cedricbernat congratulations on your grandfish lol! I am not too much help to you because I never see the eggs or milt. Since they live indoors their "pond" is much smaller than they would have outdoors. Because of that they have A LOT of filtration. That is why I never see the products of their spawning. But I DO see them "flirting," sometimes in the mornings, and always after a water change! And I also notice the girls have big bellies one day and then they don't.

You need to spawn in summer then the water will be right temperature. No need to heat up further - raise in water that is 20-30cm deep and you’ll get good growth. Shallow water in full sun. Ph about 7.2. Eggs hatch in 4-5days.

with regular goldfish and comets you cant use this method. instead you have to gently massage both sides of her body by the anal fin in a sliding motion to release eggs. i have to do this to me female comet several times in the summer cuz if i dont she gets constipated and refuses to eat. p.s it is best that you keep the males and females in separate tanks

Yes I am aware that it is better to keep them separably. I have actually been in the hobby for 8 years and keep them together to encourage them to breed. If I ever notice any aggression happening in the tank, then I usually separate those fish from the rest. Out of my 17 tanks, most of them are consisting of goldfish.

wow that is a lot of tanks. i wish i could have that many but my mom doesn't like having many tanks. i barely got away with 3 tanks. the largest tank houses a large 7yr old female comet. i have to remove her eggs by hand. she will release a few but then has a problem releasing the rest. i have found that keeping the water cool helps with the spawning. Have you been able to hand spawn them?

Terry Lin Randall​ well that's very cool. My largest tank is a 75, they range from 75-10's. It's a lot of work, but I've just been doing if for so long that I've gotten used to it. As for hand spawning, no not yet. I'm a little worried about trying to do it again.
