It is really great to see Kai react with other groups and people // He always adds that special flair to everything. All the singers' voices are fabulous. Their harmonies are so sweet to the ear. SM is stacked.

Yeah, it was noticeable they only practiced together twice. But kai eats any choreo he is given no matter what. I thought it was a little simple but he made it look so darn good. I really needed some new kai content. I think your comment was accurate that he adds a little extra flare to it.

i mean.. it's not a greatly composed song it's quite simple but it is very catchy iowajdioejd and all of their vocals are so good and it just feels like a lil hug for christmas yk? and yesss I miss Kai so much :( it's been a pretty dry year and who knows when is he leaving next year...

Kai picks up choreo very fast...a quick study. He is just very good at it that even in a playful mood, he stands out. If you saw one of exo's ladder where the penalty was to dance Red Velvet "Bad Boy" choreo, he was able to that in like 5 minutes after looking at a video.

It's just a cute collab stage for Christmas that only took a week to learn the whole choreo and preform not the Epic collaberation between biggest group's main dancers some people expected

Hot & Cold- RV Seulgi, EXO kai, AESPA karina, & NCT Jeno. I watch this stage video many times, even reaction video of it. I just now realized that at the end, kai's rubber shoe laces were untied. Kai is really UNSTOPPABLE & Unmatched. Period. This years is SM year. TWO Supergroups comeback: -GOT THE BEAT -SuperM and especially EXO COMEBACK.

Our NCT trio (who we lovingly refer to as DoJaeJung) also has a special unit song (unreleased as yet, called Can We Go Back) they they do as part of the Link tour setlist and they performed it today for the MBC year-end show! Feeding thoughts they might be put together as a sub-unit of their own... either way, they did a wonderful job today! I actually quite enjoy Hot and Cold. The choreo was done by Bada Lee and Jrick Baek (he said they wanted to go for the light and happy feelings of winter). Bada has worked with Kai a lot so I wouldn't be surprised if she included some of his signature moves. According to Seulgi they only met twice as a group to work it through and rehearse it (learned the choreo initially on their own as schedules allow). It's not a title track or a huge project though, just performed on the set for the SMCU Palace free New Year concert. It's a lovely little gift at the end of the year and the lyrics are quite light and sweet so it all worked for me; a little special stage to get us excited for the full show tomorrow. (Plus I feel like all four of them are known for their duality: intense characters on stage but total marshmallows off stage and perhaps this is just a nod to their lighter personalities.) The SMCU Palace album (10 songs) is quite a variety and some really powerhouse stuff along with lighter things (not unlike years past but my fav of the recent winter albums). You'd really enjoy some of the tracks I think. Happy New Year! :D

my personal thoughts on the choreo is they needed to practice it together more to match the energy, it was lacking harmony if that makes sense. they're good dancers and performers but it seems everyone was on his own a bit only seulgi and karina seemed getting along for me. seulgi already said they practiced it mostly on their own and twice together and that explained it to me but understandable since all of them are busy

On So Cold: It was cute. No wow factor, really. I'm biased to be pro SM, especially if anyone from NCT is involved, but that's basically how they're getting away with it. If they didn't pick the lineup for this song that they had, it might not have gotten much attention. It reminds me of when Hollywood will put 10+ huge A-list actors in one movie and then forget to film something unique, lol.

Don’t get me wrong it’s literally a coed of all my biases. With that being said, Hot and Cold felt very last minute. I feel like the whole thing from the vocals down to the set and lighting was discussed and made 3 weeks prior👀. Very standard and repetitive melodies and chord progressions, repetitive choreography, all dancers who can pick up said choreo pretty fast and who have similar schedules or no schedules at all etc. They literally worked with what they were given. They made it work somehow. I guess they’re that great. 😂

I hate it when people flip out about "live" vocals. Look, singing live is great, but let's be honest. Trying to sing live while dancing the way they do, AND sound the way they do in the recordings is straight up impossible for anyone. You can't keep a steady tone while dancing like that. Period. These people are amazing. End of conversation. Live vocals or not.

I totally got what you meant by hot and cold not giving big budget vibes. It's an okay song but I needed more progression or something in the music. Are you going to listen to the SMCU album on Patreon? Would love to hear your analysis of Priority and Time After Time. Anyway, I love this channel and all the different perspectives. Jungwoo just performed with Doyoung and Jaehyun today as part of the MBC end of year show (their unit song from Link tour Can We Go Back). It was fab and everyone is speculating whether these three are going to have an official sub-unit especially since it follows right after they release this Christmas medley.

I love Jaehyun singing Christmas songs bc he just has that warm and cozy vibe. For hot and cold, i am not vibing with it too despite Karina being my bias as well. The song was to me boring, i only listen to it twice and although i personally love Karina’s tone, it didnt go well with the song when she starts shouting the ‘its so cold’ part. Still love her though but yeah its not playlist material for me.

I also think that the choreo is kinda off. In the sense that this looks like such a basic and simple dance compare to the caliber of performers they had for this song. I mean they didn't have to go off like crazy but to me looks like waste potential. The fact that they didn't have the time to practice together the dance was a mayor downfall cause they couldn't match each others energy. On one side you can see Karina and Seulgi dancing and smiling just for the video, on the other is Jeno trying to do a choreo that doesn't fit his more powerful style of dancing yet executing every move to the tea and then there's Kai who looks like he came to PERFORME... but i really like the vocals and catchy vibe of the song👌🏼

Saaaaaame there was sth about it.. like yeah they are great, but maybe i expected more? i didn't really like the setting and lightning, too distracting.. the song and choreo didn't bring out the qualities of the artists, their great personal flavors... So it's like this song/video could have been performed by whoever, anyone else.. you know what i mean?
