Growing up as a kid above the 7th green of the golf course across from this windmill, I used to look out my bedroom window and dream about turning this windmill into a house. I am so glad someone finally did! There are probably still discarded sandstone millstones we found in Beaver Creek below the windmill in the yard of my old family house used as steping stones on Spauldling Court.

I too lived nearby, on Yorktown Rd, and always wondered WHAT THE HECK was going on back there. I left in 1981 for the USAF, and would love to visit it today!

Mr. Phillips this is so awesome. I deliver pizza in Lorain and ride past your home everyday, never knowing that it's a home. It always catches my eye. I love my city and there's always a little jewel hidden somewhere within it. Thank you :)

Joseph Ule built the windmill in the mid-1950's on Kolbe Road between Amherst and Lorain, Ohio. Tom Phillips has done a wonderful job of turning the windmill into a beautiful home.

Doreen, your information is correct. Joseph Ule said he was the fastest and best bricklayer ever.

Hi Tom! This is so exciting to see! I absolutely love this structure and the house out front. It has been my dream to live there one day for about 20 years! I'm so pleased to see that you're loving it up, and doing such a wonderful job with amazing features!!!

Always liked the property, glad you bought it and fixed the mill, but too many steps for me at my age. Also see: Landmark PCH water tower house of Sunset Beach, California sells for $1.5 million

seems to me lorain is right on the lake, not near it...lol and i think i remember it having the wind mill attached to it. so why would you say never completed? this place mesmerized me as a kid, i was a familiar landmark that i always saw when traveling down and around oak point road when it was a bumpy gravel road, and like i said i thought it had the actual windmill

There is a similar wind mill north of Oberlin Ohio on SR 58.

Lol i've been in this before with possibly his son? That would suck though having to walk up all them stairs to go to bed, especially if you forget something up there then have to go all the way back down.

I thought the Gomez family still owned it
