Welcome back!
In this series i will be reassembling a 1974 Honda CB350F engine.
This is the first video in the new series and will be made up of putting the transmission and crank back in the bottom case. I hope enjoy!

Thank you for this video. I just took apart my 1973 350 four and had exactly the same issue with the cam chain tensioner. And successfully applied the exact same remedy

Good to hear! It seems to be the only thing that really mechanically went wrong in these.

Wow a 350cc inline 4??? Are those things rare? That's soo cool and I bet it makes an amazing sound!

Yep, tiny pistons. I would not say they are rare exactly as much as just uncommon anymore. Mine or the ones i built are generally the only i see in my area. The 400f which is the same engine but with bigger bore and a 6 speed transmissions are significantly more rare though. Yes, i love how they sound, lots of fun around town and on back roads.

Nice work. Earlier this year, I completed a full restoration on a '74 CB350F (kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWXGY5iNp7WiZ5I) myself. I didn't have to get into the bottom end, but I did snag a shot of one of the pistons with a quarter (coin) centered on top just to show how tiny these cylinders really are. Since you were down to the bare cases, I was wondering if you thought about checking the crank bearing clearances using plastiguage? Just curious.

I actually did check them, it was just not on camera. And i think i showed checking bearings in one of my other videos. Also like most cb350f it had almost no miles on it anyway and the bearings pretty much looked new.
