Kolkata doctor rape-murder case: Calls for justice by medical fraternity grow louder
In a strong display of support, doctors and medical students of Kolkata continue to protest over the murder and alleged sexual assault of a post-graduate trainee (PGT) doctor. The protesting doctors marched as they raised slogans “we want justice” demanding justice for the victim. Earlier in the day, the CBI took over the investigation of the case as ordered by the Calcutta High Court after arriving in Kolkata.
a protesting doctor said, “This protest is for demanding justice which has still not been delivered yet. Government is not taking any step regarding the matter and we are against it. Whoever has done this heinous crime must get punishment...”
The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
