In the comic strip where it is claimed to show England’s neglect towards Canada, it could also be looked at another way that makes sense. ~ When Kuma is saying that the big bear is paying attention to the rowdy bear more while he is going through a rebellious phase; it can also be interpreted as a parent trying their best to keep their kid out of trouble, where in Canada’s case he doesn’t need to stress over that. And Kuma’s comment at the end is that one opinion if you don’t fully understand the story. France played an extremely important role, and if he didn't help America then it would have been harder and it would have taken longer for America to gain independence, possibly going bankrupt in having to keep up the war for such a long time since he was just a colony. France basically won the war for him, and he wouldn't have gained independence so easily if not.

About the Hong Kong thing; Hong actually became weird like that on his own. There's a comic about it and in that comic England said that he has no idea why Hong turned out the way he did. It could be due to England perhaps being too strict and Hong changing his attitude towards everything to rebel at least a little bit but then again in the "Predator!" comic England said that Hong is actually a really nice guy, so I dunno...

PokeEmblem 692 If you didn't know, England can be quite strict with his children. His interactions with America that happened before the revolution are a good example. But also remember that the Hong being rebelious because of England being too strict is a theory and I think the fact that China gives him a choice in not too many things is a much better reason for Hong to rebel. There was a chapter in which HK wanted to move out to his own place but China forced him to stay. So maybe Hong was really a good guy when living with England and then he started to get weird (because that can happen when you're growing up, have you seen any teens/young adults?), and then it turned into being rebelious in a sense of poking fun at China who doesn't want to let go of him. So perhaps Hong is trying to annoy China to the point when he'll get kicked out of the house and will finaly be at least a bit more free, but I dunno!

I have many reasons why I hate England sometimes when it comes to him being a parent and him acting like he did good at parenting. 1. He left America too many times as a kid. Yes, he had things to do, but poor America grew up too fast and is now a teen basically dealing with adult problems. And anyone who is the older sibling will know how that feels like. 2. He basically did favor America as a kid, in front of Canada! Like anytime, Canada tried to speak to him, England didn't hear him, but America yells and he hears him. Or if I remember, England read America a story at bedtime... but completely forgotten about Canada and didn't read him a story! 3. When America wanted his freedom, he had to fight England to get it. After winning, England then decided he NEEDED the last laugh and bombed America's capital... where he KNOWS that would be his heart! So basically hurting America in his heart, making him feel like that was England telling him, he is dead to him and didn't love him anymore. 4. When Canada asked England for his freedom, he gave it to Canada without a fight. That showed America that England must have loved Canada more than him, while it showed Canada that England loved America more than him and favored him more. Which would understand how America and Canada are with each other. Since America feels like Canada took away England, while Canada feels like America would always be seen as the cooler one. 5. Also remember this, England is a dick to Sealand! I looked this up, the only main reason why Sealand isn't their own country yet, or why people don't see them as a country. It's being the British government won't let it happen, since Sealand is based on what was once British whatever. So it's all England's doing! 6. Jabs at America's eating habits and his weight, even though it is studied that England also has obsessed people. 7. Jabs at whatever America does. 8. Only remember Canada whenever he needs something. 9. And for some talking about the flower thing, I do understand that it must be hard to get because England is busy and stuff. But England almost always travels, so he could have stopped and picked some up for America? 10. Also I know these for only jokes and laughs, but let's not forget the fact that England was trying to cruse America! So yeah, I see France as a better dad, because he at least wanted America to have his freedom!

I do agree that France was a better dad then England to Canada (or his other names during the years, New France, lower and upper Canada and Quebec) , I learn Quebec's history (and omfg so much happens) and England was rude to the french people in the beginning when he got New France, they force the Acandians to move back to France. Made them not able to sell there house to other French people but only to British so the British can populate there more. They even try to force them to change their religion but thank god there was a nice guy in charge of the colony. And many more things that went wrong under England ruling. Sure France did some wrong things as well but....not as back as England. Oh and about England not looking at him for resources? HA he did, he use him for furs, fish and wood. It's reasonable why the mother country will do use their colony for resources, to make profit, every mother county does that so that statement makes no sense, just saying. Yeah also in real life England refused to help America during the French and Indian war, then once America some how miraculously pulled through it and won, England then forbid them to use the land they won and continued to let the French living there remain despite it then being British territory. He also dumped all the debt from that war on the colonies despite the fact that the war was seldom any less than an ego rub for England and England was the one to insite it and encouraged the colonies to fight it while he also refused all pleese for some back up as the well trained French army was attacking them and they had barley any weapons, if I remember correctly the colonial militia fighting this war had to steal weapons from the French to fight them. This was the soul cause of the American revolution because the colonist thought that if they had been able to win against France (who at the time was one of the strongest countries in the world) then England might not be as impossible as they thought.

Ngl this seems a bit bias. England’s eyebrows are not a valid reason for him to loose points and just because they were an adult when France assaulted them does not make it any less horrible. Also, I would like to point out that while he doesn’t remember Canada, no one else does. Also, when Canada was late, England was the only one to realize he was, even tho he didn’t know it was Canada. Also, with America being so much louder and rebellious, it’s no wonder England wasn’t able to spend as much time with Canada. As a kid who was better behaved while also getting less attention, I completely understand why Britain was to busy for Canada. It’s also clear the Canada doesn’t hold a grudge against Britain. In my opinion, England should have won. It’s clear he genuinely cares about his kids, where as, like you said, France only wanted Canada for his resources. It’s is also clear to me that France is a complete creep and, in my opinion, should NOT be aloud around children. However, this is all just my opinion. I’d love to hear any counter arguments from anyone who would like to talk.
