Weezing is definitely still overlooked in spite of Alex and Kyle's Sacramento runs, I think people fixate too much on the ability negation aspect. Though it's definitely weezing's best quality, poison is a super valuable defensive and offensive typing right now with so much grass fighting and tera fairy, and wisp+taunt is an insane support toolkit right now with an overwhelming lean toward physical attackers in this format, a lot of setup, and a resurgence of trick room with bloodmoon and sinistcha being introduced.

Hisuan Goodra is slept on right now. 4x resists grass, resists water, can’t get crit, and crazy bulk. Counters urshifu, AV with heavy slam does really well into flutter mane, you can one shot alolan ninetailes even under snow and aurora veil, destroys water and grass ogerpon, and it can terra flying for choice landorus

QOTD: I feel like i havent seen anyone use or even talk about Basculegion. Both forms are incredibly bulky and hit hard, especially with Adaptability + Hydro Pump/Wave Crash, and with Swift Swim it can actually outspeed a lot of competition under rain.

I am suspecting there may be a pretty good slot in the meta for Salamence. We're seeing dragon as a really valuable defensive typing in regulation E as well as physical attackers really taking center stage, and my first throught to that is "the dragon type with Intimidate and incredible across the board stats may have some value here". Salamence is just so versatile as well with an enormous movepool and the statistical backbone to run like 6 different types of sets depending on what your team needs. It has really seen almost zero play for all of SV so I think people forget it's even in the game, but the versatile 600 bst Pokemon that is probably top 5 among most competitively successful Pokemon across generations may have some value here.

I caught some of the tournament last weekend and was surprised to see Michael taking advantage of what seemed like an over-use of physical attackers. I kept seeing will-o-wisp plus iron defense make kommo-o actually unbeatable for physical attackers, given leftovers and grass recovery. I'm no expert but this team feels like it will need to be accounted for on opposing teams, similarly to how dondozo + tatsu made everyone plan around them for a couple months.

Kommo-o would probably get quite a bit of usage this regulation as it is one of the few mons that resist all the ogerpon forms which I feel is pretty useful as Ogerpon rarely runs coverage. Just Spiky shield or swords dance/follow me(Also Ogerpon is the biggest prey of 4 move slot syndrome)

@@nathan_510 well dragon fighting is literally the only type combo that resists all Ogerpon forms. Even with abilities and tera I think it's the only type combo. Give and take man. Especially as offence will probably be lead by Ogerpon and Urshifus. I think Scarf Lando is also one of them, and Lando has na Flying moves other than fly and TB flying

@@nathan_510 Kommo-o walls Flutter with Tera Steel and Bulletproof. Not a costless solution, but you can straight up win the 1v1 trivially if you want. At that point you have one mon that beats the two best offensive threats in the meta, not to mention resisting Surging Strikes.

I feel like H-Typhlosion and H-Samurott is underappreciated. Phlosion's signature is Ghost Scald + conditional double damage, which feels like amazing utility and damage, while Samurott sets up Spikes on it's signature. While generally setting up hazards in doubles is bad, considering it's signature is automatic and synergies with Sharpness means that it's a good button to push if you think they're going to swap and the spikes is just extra.

QOTD: blaze tauros is genuinely great right now. faces competition with the likes of h-arcanine, landorus-t, and even stuff like iron hands as a fighting type but it gives a lot of nice niches such as being resistant to both of hearthflames stats as an intimidate mon unlike the other 2 main imtimidators, resists sucker punch from kingambit and threatens it with a close combat letting it still be positive into opposing kingambit despite its defiant, especially with sitrus berry youre perfectly fine often, resists the stabs of chi yu and chien pao, can burn things in conjunction with intimidate like kingambit roaring moon wellspring ogerpon (might need to tera to say grass or dragon) etc. also has raging bull which is great into alolan ninetales teams and is a fighting type not weak to flutter mane which is pretty unique. i think the mon will slowly pick up given how much it provides.

QOTD: I think Ambipom is really slept on at the moment. It's such a good support Pokémon with Fake out, taunt and knock off. It's fast and it has technician to power up weaker moves. If left it will be a nightmare

QOTD: focus sash mamoswine counters a good bit of the meta in my opinion with high horsepower and icicle crash being able to one shit so many mons. whatever cant be oneshot gets picked off by ice shard and oblivious preventing intimidate makes mamo really positive into arcanine and lando-t

Sleeper pick is Milotic. It has a good enough support pool to fit your niche while also being able to dish out damage as well as punishing your opponent for bringing Arcanine, Landorus-T or other intimidators

qotd: i'm consistently in the 1400 rank on ladder and I feel like i still almost never see fezendipiti there. Dunno if it's more present higher up. I WANT arbok to be a slept on pokemon. I feel like scizor would have a decent match up into the meta. Seems pretty good into ogerpon if you've got your tera. fire tera for fluttermane and fire ogerpon seems pretty good. I dunno dragalge too on trick room

I love T-Tar and Kommo-O. It just sucks that in the last 3 Pokémon games I’ve played, (Violet, Legends: Arceus, Brilliant Diamond) didn’t have Larvitar for the leveling up part of the game but it’s not necessarily a bad thing because Pupitar doesn’t evolve into T-tar into like Level 55.

Honestly this is a very good season to come up with great counters to "meta mons" so many pokemon have generic sets...I've seen a lot of success running things like torment and attract.

If Ogerpon teras and gets the stat boost and then you switch in Weezing then swap back out does it reactivate embody aspects like it did for Zacians intrepid sword? If so then my answer if Weezing if you can manage to pivot it.
