i can't tell what I love more about this game, the take on Old Snake, the absolute perfect ending, the shadow moses chapter and that fight piloting Rex against Ray, or just the Old Snake theme song. I don't know why but 4 was the one I loved the most, even more than 3, which somehow already surpassed 2 which has a really special place in my heart. MGS4 is a love letter spread across 15 hours of gameplay and 20 hours of cutscenes, and a thank you to all of us who have been there with Snake. it was so heart-breaking to let go, but that was the point to end it. right there, lighting up a cigar for a dying big boss', accepting fate and consequences, saluting the franchise we loved so deeply.

Mgs4 had THE BEST gameplay. They actually gave us the movement needed to fight high action sections, something all the others upto that point failed, since not being able to move AND use your gear, was the biggest reason the previous ones were so difficult, and with mgs1/2’s HORRIBLE camera work. This one actually had proper difficulty, cause the sections had ACTUAL depth besides “okay, the camera will be here so itll be harder LOL. Or they’ll make it harder to see things here LOL.” Im excited the most for this one.

@@hvn_gng he's right though...I think you missed his point and I remember reading about it aswell but it flew under most people's radar at the time. Chapter 2 is what was rushed, chapter 3 was cut entirely from the game and not because of the konami vs kojima situation...think of the Mexico portion in RDR2, some work was put into it but only bare bones, and early enough into development they decided it's too much and so they cut it entirely. We were never supposed to see the teaser, and we were never going to get Chapter 3 with the release of MGSV...if anything as an addon way down the line, but even that's just speculation on my part

Same man! I have it, and it's so rare now I don't dare play it. It's a great Remake in my eyes and matches up with where the series was going with MGS2. I also played the PAL version which was worked on further after the NTSC release and they did fix and polish some things. For the life of me I can't do the trick you can do in the Ocelot fight in the PAL version.

@@WllKiedSnake well you can always mod your ps3, 4 and 5. You can just download the games. Phones can emulate it as well just use your controller. Twin Snakes is not easy to re-release as the studio closed and absorbed by Nintendo with the Nintendo mascots Easter eggs. Nintendo need to give the ok but because they own IP with Konami. Both need to give the ok. Both Nintendo and Konami knows the game didn't sell well so it's not a great investment right now. In the future they will for sure.

As someone new to the MGS series, I’ve been really hoping for Master Collection vol. 2 that would contain MGS4. I’ve played all the games available to me of PS4, MGS 1, 2, 3, V, and Ground Zeroes, and I’m craving that canonical end to the series. I generally know what happens in the game’s story, but playing it for myself would be a whole other experience. I also hope Rising Revengeance gets included even if it’s only soft canon.

I'd much rather have a remaster WITH mgo active on it(no I don't wanna play mgsV mgo) If it doesn't have mgo then it's okay but mgs4 was MASSIVE! Was so brokenhearted over it. If you have a PS3 or you PC can run a PS3 emulator though... there is a fan made, recreated MGO2 server. Takes all of 10 minutes to set up and get in once you have your game on PS3, or your downloads done for the emulator.

Remaster on MGS 4 Means a lot of cut content for example a jpop song would be cut,Assassins creed reference cut, Apple product placement would also cut,PS3 & PS3 Blu ray reference mentioned by otacon would also be cut so on and so forth.

@@kingresi420 emulating it is way more taxing on your system than a full proper pc release. think of emulation like this; MGS4 is now a 400page essay written in say french, but the pc cant read french. the emulator comes in, translates everything as its happening from french to english so that the pc can read it. this costs resources from the pc to do, but if konami rereleased the MGS4 essay in english the pc wouldnt have to translate it to understand it to begin with and subsequently cutting the resourcecosts needed to achieve better performance.

I'm happy for those who want MGS4 ported, really. As somebody who still has a working PS3 with the game installed, though, I'm really moreso hoping the next volume in the collection has Portable Ops and PO+ with online multiplayer more than anything. Again, that's just my personal hope since "Calling to the Night" and "Showtime!" are two of my favorite MGS songs and Gene is one of my favorite Metal Gear villains, but I am genuinely very happy that more people just might have the chance to experience MGS4 because it is worth its status as a numbered entry in the series and the chronological conclusion to the initial Metal Gear story.
