So now that you’ve had them on for a bit what would you say the ride quality is like? Currently I have H&R sport springs with stock dampers and obviously it’s not that great of a match. Wondering if these koni’s will smoothen out the ride quality since they are meant for lowering springs?

I absolutely love the setup I went with! To be very honest with you, every day I drive my GYI, I’m an in complete awe at how well it drives. It’s super compliant on city roads and bad roads. Yes, it’s stiffer than stock dampers, but it’s not back breaking like coilovers. The biggest improvement is road contact patch. The Koni Yellows matched with the EMD’s, have such good road contact. It makes the ride compliant and predictable. I can feel the road through T the steering wheel a lot better than ever before. I haven’t changed the dampening settings since I installed them. So really, if I wanted it softer or stiffer, I could do both, but the setting I put them at seems to be perfect. There’s a particular road in my area that has a downhill section, going into a sweeping left turn. It’s a 40mph road, but I usually drive it at 60mph+. This road in particular, has a lot of crack and root bumps in it. It’s an old road. So driving it, the car vibrates a lot, and skips over the bumps causing the car to slightly slide when hitting each bump while going through the turn. I’ve driven this road with the BC coilovers, the ST XTA coilovers, 100% OEM suspension, and with my Koni Yellow setup w/RSB. With the BC and ST coilovers, the car was very unstable and had very little contact patch on the road. So it skipped a lot and slid a lot. They also clunked a lot. They were horrible. With the OEM suspension, it was softer, but still skipped a lot. But the ride was better than the coilovers. With my Koni Yellow setup, it has by far the least amount of skipping and sliding, but the contact patch is much much much better! Instead of the car sliding through the corner, I can actually point where I want the car to go, because it’s just able to take the bumps so much better. Zero clunking too. So all in all, I absolutely love this setup still!

Hey there! Looking at this set up soon and had a few questions bc information on ED springs is very limited. Do you have an issue with the softness of the springs at all? I see many people complain about ED springs bottoming out easily due to their softness. Secondly, can you install the konis on stock strut mounts/bearings? I have relatively low-mileage on my car still and while I think they would be fine, I don't want to risk damaging my car. I'm very new to this suspension stuff so I wanna make sure I do it right the first time lest it bite me in the ass later down the line.

Thanks for watching and for the questions. 1. No issues with the softness of the ED springs. The people that complain about them, are using them on stock OEM struts, and because the stock OEM struts are softer than the Koni’s, that’s why they complain about the ED springs being too soft. I have not bottomed out at all with the ED springs on my Koni shocks. Matter of fact, there’s a certain bump I would bottom out on when I was on fully stock OEM suspension that I no longer bottom out with on the ED springs and Koni shocks. But if I used the ED springs on the stock OEM struts, I’m sure it would bottom out on this particular bump. 2. Yes you can. Matter of fact, that’s what I did. I used OEM mounts/bearings. They work perfectly with them. The Koni’s are actually designed to be used with the OEM mounts/bearings.
