TK has done more to hurt MJF since his return than I thought possible. 1. Return in a throwaway segment on ppv with an unfocused promo and dumb tattoo 2. Have him wrestle an opening competitive match against a guy who doesn't win and take risky bumps 3. Put mjf on ppv vs a wrestler no one in the US is familiar with. 4. Have mjf offer a midcarder a match at the company's biggest ppv on the go home show to the current PPV. 5. Have mjf not make any effort to go after the AEW Championship.

the concept of Forbidden Door needs to either end in 2024 or Tony Khan needs to figure out a way to do a show with WWE (which will never happen, I know). NO ONE cares about random Mexican guy vs random AEW mid-card guy. NO ONE cares about old Japanese guy vs washed up AEW guy. it's a wrestling gimmick that's so niche that even the biggest online marks are done with AEW. Think about that: a mark pandering company that marks are bored with.

the reason Forbidden Door didn't work is because there was never a Forbidden Door in AEW.. and doing a crossover with NJPW is kinda pointless because they were already doing talent trading. The only reason there was a "Forbidden Door" is because WWE didn't acknowledge other companies, but WWE had already started acknowledging other companies by the time AEW started, so the concept was moot. Not to mention they never actually did any sort of angles or stories to make the it mean anything... any "invasion" was half-asses and poorly explained and none of the matches meant anything before they started or after they were finished. At this point its just branded that way so he's going to keep it.

A lot of you dudes who didn't watch the indies, ROH or NJPW's US expansion in the late 2010s don't get it. Okada, Tanahashi, Minoru Suzuki, Rush etc. were already over with US crowds BEFORE AEW EVEN STARTED. The reason why AEW is putting them on and created Forbidden Door is because THE FANS DEMANDED IT. Just because YOU don't know who they are doesn't mean they don't have an audience. As I always say, the problem isn't the talent...it's TKs terrible booking. No amount of talent can make a show hot when the booker is a creatively incompetent clown. Look at WWE 5 years ago for proof.

Example Grand Junction, CO has two massive music festivals Rock Jam and Country Jam and the Junior College world series JuCo, but even when those are going nothing else to do. Could piggy back some solid numbers off those three if it's done right. It's something like a million plus in all 3 cases, not bad for a population under half a million and that's a lot of bored tourists.
