One of my fav lifters. KK has built-in subwoofers in his larynx. lol.

At 9:08 Konstantinovs stating "No garbage food" was classic(especially with the way his voice sounds). The quote should be made into an app or something:-)

@living4adrenaline For Russians is different, they have their special training systems and their healthy food I'm assuming is very caloric dense plus the gear let's not fool ourselves just like Americans their gear is next level.

Thank you for asking that last question, it is the mindset of lifters at the top that intrigues me the most. Thanks for the footage. Blessings

One of the most important things he mentioned was recuperation i.e. rest after workouts. Lifters as well as bodybuilders are grossly overtrained. More doesnt mean better. How is better. Mike Mentzer used to say that heavy sport has nothing to do with economics where more is better)). Rest factor is very crucial. I m glad he highlighted that.

mentzer was rediclous with it tho where he would advice training a muscle group every 2 weeks
@nicholaspetre12 жыл бұрын
@@topg9028 with that level of intensity that Mentzer implied and suggested, 2 weeks of rest was quite normal. Mentzer talked about average sportsman. He mentioned that rest is very subjective factor. One athlete needed 2 weeks of rest while the other man would need only few days. It s all subjective
@topg90282 жыл бұрын
@@nicholaspetre1 begginers do not need 2 weeks rest they cant even use there muscles properly while lifting they need more sets not less and his philosophy is flawed his method only damages your CNS and gives weak results
@nicholaspetre12 жыл бұрын
Well, it's true, Mike's system is not for beginners. And it is also true that Mike's system is really hard on CNS that's why not all can handle it and use this system on daily basis. That's why there are a lot of athletes who follow a kind of hybrid system that borrows principles from traditional training and Mike's training like Dorian Yates etc. I doubt there are even some sportsmen these days who follows Mike's system as precise as Mike used to tell. But it does not mean that his system is not working and it is ridiculous. Mike used to work (at least from his own testimonies) those very hard cases for whom traditional training did not bring much results and once those individuals started following Mike's recommendations they started to finally progress well. Like Mike used to say there are individuals with huge array of adaptation capabilities. Some need 2 days of rest while there are also some for whom 2 weeks of rest in between same muscle groups is necessary to progress. It's just the nature of things. That's is why those people who take top place in bodybuilding contests are those who adapt fast and can have frequent workouts having as many workout/rest cycles as possible to grow more muscles. Those other slow responders will never even compete but still can train and achieve at lest some results. Hope it makes sense. In my personal experience extra rest was always beneficial and I always felt better with fewer workouts than with more frequent ones. And every sportsman obviously should understand that he/she needs to adjust training routing for himself and not just blindly follow recommendations of somebody else. It should be perceived to the prism of your own body's peculiarities.
