Konstanze has an incredible stride her long legs and effortless stride carry her the whole way. I wish she would get stronger so she could put a real dent in her competitors like Helen Obiri and Letesenbet Gidey. More weight training? More distance strengthening? @@MrEddy-bm3eo yes, as the announcers point out, her 24th birthday was a bit ago, on Feb 18th, I think. But she was 22 when she won bronze in Doha WC 5000m. She could probbaly run both 5k and 10k in Tokyo. The schedule allows this and she is so far ahead of most of the other Germans that she would easily get the spots for two events. This was her first 10k on track, it was warm and humid and she started cautiously (splits ca. 15:42 + 15:20). In a staged TT like BTC with Cranny etc. did a few weeks ago (the announcers said they had pacers until 8k! whereas Koko held back bit for about 4k and then ran alone), I am pretty sure she could have run 20-30 seconds faster. Medalling will be tough in any case but the 10k probably a bit less so than 5k or 1500.

What's wrong with "in which race"?
@TheAmazingHuman-Man
@TheAmazingHuman-Man 3 жыл бұрын
@@archiewoosung5062 The first “in” is redundant I think. The second one is fine, but doesn’t make much sense after the colon. “which race will she compete in” sounds best. An example of “in which” would be like “the situation in which I found myself is dangerous” or “this is the house in which I live”. There’s something that comes before “which” that it refers to. In this case, “which” refers to the olympics, but there’s a comma between them so they’re like differently sentences altogether (independent clauses). Take out the comma and it would be “Which race at the Olympics will she compete in”. “In which” would come first and then it sounds weird because you don’t know what it’s referring to. Idk if any of that makes sense or not, but hopefully it helps.

Koko Klosterhalfen is a great athlete but it is puzzling to me that people run, she and others, for countries that they haven't lived in for years. Koko has lived in Portland since 2018. American coaches, know how, food, diet and she'll run for Germany. What's the point of a country-based Olympics if everyone is living in America? It's not everyone but there are plenty. And this record, set in Texas, is now the German record?

@Bob Don Not really my point and not all together true. Irish came here too. They still speak Irish in Ireland in some areas. @cr3161
@cr3161 3 жыл бұрын
@@Emomob I understand where you're coming from but I don't see that as the relevant question. Anyone asked that would answer, no as it's a surface level question. The list of Olympians from other nations living and training in the USA is staggering. What if Germany had better resources, dietitians, coaching, etc. and most of the people moved there to train from Africa, Asia, all over. And they lived there for 4, 8, 10 years and some were born there never living in the country they claim to represent. Isn't that just German training? Some athletes representing other nations have grown up in the USA entirely. Hardly ever set foot in the country they claim to represent. Mondo Duplantis set the WR in pole vault. Born in USA and lives in Louisiana. He doesn't speak Swedish and never had a single input from Sweden in any coaching or general sense. This is a Swedish WR? Nesta Carter ran the 4x1 for Jamaica for years. Florida boy. Never lived in Jamaica. You get the idea. America has the best HS and collegiate track programs in the world. For other countries to become the beneficiary of that by shipping the athletes here really just waters down the whole notion of country based Olympics. Are you thinking Koko would climb to her recent levels without living in the USA? Clearly she's made a choice and at some point it's time to call a spade a spade.
