Howcome when I follow your lead I click on the "BAND FOLDER" and instead of having several sections like 1. Horns 2. Acoustic Pianos 3. Electric Pianos 4. Organ etc. they're all in one folder. It looks like even though I have the Kontakt Factory Library that you have way more sounds and folders than what I have? I'm currently on Kontakt 5. I only have one piano and that's the EP piano. Plz help!

Nice one Danny. Always look forward to the weekend DJL tutorials! How would you add .nki files from disparate 3rd party sample packs? Is it worth putting them all into one folder for easy access from Kontakt's finder window? Their location shouldn't affect the sample referencing should it? Thanx.

This tip has made navigating round my sounds a whole lot faster! Thank you! However one thing that doesn't work is if I hit the next arrow to select the next sound it selects the next instrument in its original folder (the one on my hard drive) not whats in the bank I've created inside Quickload. You did it at 2:30 in the video, so there must be a way to do it... Any ideas?

cool video. your got kontakt 9 ultimate, or you just purchased the upgrade? I wish I had enough money to get the ultimate. razor must generate the best vocoder sounds I ever heard. and there are many other great synths and effects. sure, buying each product separately costs 6 times more. but it's still 900 euros, nonetheless. Danny, today I was just thinking about Mediate. any news? are they still releasing their stuff? that track with that square bass sounded really good.

Can you save the 'quick-load' menu as a preset, so you can later access the folders you've created on, say, a different session. Cheers! Brandon

How do you add vibrato to solo trumpet or violin tracks, for example, in Kontakt 5? I've learned how to do that by adding automation lanes under the track with the instruments included in ProTools' Expand 2. But when I click on Plug-in automation to add a vibrato for an instrument in Kontakt 5, I only see "Master Bypass", and underneath, a list going from #000 to #511. Which one of these numbers is the Mod Wheel, the vibrato depth, and the vibrato width? And how do you program the keyswitching AFTER you've recorded a track? I've never found any video about how to utilize these these IMPORTANT and NECESSARY controls with virtual instruments in Kontakt 5. Please make one as soon as possible!

I have Kontakt. In simplest form, how do I load in a sample, and then manipulate it to more of my "own" sound. If that makes sense. I haven't seen many videos explaining this. Thanks!
@SoundsFromSound9 жыл бұрын
Chris Charleston Hi Chris. All you have to do is drag and drop any sample you want into a "new instrument" in Kontakt. You can decide later what range/keys you want to trigger the sample. As far as manipulating the sample, you can click the wrench icon and go under the hood to add modulation, effects, time stretch, and more. I'm working on a Kontakt tutorial series which I plan on finishing later this month - it will cover topics including basic sample manipulating and sound design. Good luck and have fun mangling sounds!

Question for anyone willing to answer a noob: I've been messing around with sound production and have found I have a really good ear and interest in creating music. Seeing that NI is like the Adobe of digital music, I've been considering buying Kontakt 5. But what I want to know is if NI software is compatible with non-NI VST effects and sounds. I have many free percussions, synths, bass, etc. I've gotten from places like DSK, I also have vst's I've purchased from EastWest sounds and Impact - will NI accept these? Or do all the libraries in Kontakt have to be .Nav??

question bro, can I move around and customize quick load instruments like if I wanted to COMBINE Heavycity Evolve Mutations and Damage (there is like 3 different instruments but they have some of the same subfolders) can I combine them in the quick load shortcut function? I have noticed that if I combine different instruments in the same folder (say instrument A and instrument B) and try to scroll (arrow) through to the next instrument (moving from instrument A to B) it will just cycle back to the beginning of instruments in instrument A. Does this make sense?

I just bought Komplete 10, and installed and activated it. I'm using ProTools 10.3.2, Windows 7, I-5 core with 8 GB RAM. After the installation, I got a pop-up titled "Move Unauthorized Plug-ins" that listed all of Komplete 10's AAX plug-ins, and stated: "ProTools could not load the following plug-ins either because no valid authorization could be found, the iLok key was not connected, or the plug-in was damaged." My iLok key was connected, and since the installation went smoothly, I'm assuming no plug-in was damaged. So, there is some kind of problem about a "valid authorization" not being found. In any case, Komplete 10's sample libraries do not appear as possible inserts in a track in a ProTools session. What can I do?
@10jpmorgan10 жыл бұрын
@Iam_R.Antonia Beats Well, thanks to some good advice I received, I found out that Komplete 10's AAX plug-ins won't work with ProTools version 10.3.2. When the kind salesman at the store where I purchased Komplete 10 updated my ProTools to version 10.3.9, the plug-ins began to work. But still, my computer locks up during editing, so I probably need to upgrade to ProTools 11. But I've also read complaints from users who say their ProTools 11 won't load Native Instruments plug-ins. Thanks for sending me the Kontakt 5 tutorial. I'm trying to learn how to use virtual instruments, and I'm having trouble finding information on how to program automation such as vibrato in a track. Can you recommend any Kontakt tutorials in that direction?

Here's a question - I recently had to move my K9U Libraries to a new external drive. When doing this and even after reloading them into the Kontakt player, my aliases have disappeared in my QuickLoad folders. The folder structures still exist but there is nothing in the folder. I know that the Quickload folder is located in the applicationssupport folder in the users library folder and it shoes the aliases. Is there an easy way to reimport that back in so I don't have to set up my quickload patches all over again?

What I don't understand is how Kontakt 5 can have such a rubbish manual when there is so much to do on it. The videos are all very well but a lot of the time the functionality of the interface shown differs from mine and the function is not available. No explanation for that. I try to work in studio one 3 and previously, with the plugins like presence , sound fonts, synths etc in the browser it was so simple to drag in dozens of instruments on to separate tracks and be playing or recording in minutes. Routing Kontakt 5 to play on separate tracks is a nightmare that I haven't been able to solve in spite of videos showing how its done. Just doesn't work on my version. Cant imagine how it could be used for a live performance. Reminds me of Cubase...complete over kill in complexity.

I've just gotten started w/ kontakt (after decade+ using hardware modules) and find it absurdly simple compared to other samplers/softsynths. you ever try converting gigs of EMU or Roland patches over to Akai, then have to remap every single instrument?.... seriously. I think the problem with some libraries is that they were written years ago, and as the program evolves, they don't align perfectly with the new architecture.

on Mac, this is very bad !!!!!!! why ? the quick load creates shortcut link file in the quickload folder...and guess what ? the shorcut file is much bigger than the original preset file ! incredible isnt it? conclusion : when you have 200Go of Kontakt sounds, if you put everything in the quickload menu, then, the size of the folder conaining the shortcuts is : 25Go !!!!!!!!!! only of shorcuts file !!!!!! bravo mac !!!!! on pc, a shorcut file is 1ko !!!!!! on mac, it could reach 2Mo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (cause it include the f***g icon !!!! inside a shorcut !!!! bad point for mac !!!

ow do you UNDO an accidental delete in the Quickload area...??? I was attempting to delete a library I added in a NEW FOLDER. In that folder were about 25 other libraries that I already placed several months ago. I 'thought' I highlighted said library but in fact, I highlighted the actual main folder when I hit delete. Now, I don't remember the libraries nor are they in my Quickload. So, is there a way to recover those added libraries or do I just to give them up and start over....??? thanks, and sorry for the long explanation.
