Thanks for watching. Three independent seats is a good plus point, speaking from experience with my S-Max. It gives you the freedom and space to mount two child seats and still have room for an adult.

Hmm this Peugeot 5008 seems to be different at the back seats, as your Peugeot does have only 2 full seats and in the middle the cupholder, was that specially requested? As for european edition there are 3 full seats at the back.

Heard Naza is giving up the Peugeot Franchise to avoid further investment . Question is if we buy this brand, will it be safe to own it given the lack of direction who will take over the franchise in keeping this brand presence in Malaysia for many years to come ?

@@KonWaiLuen Just a quick simple analysis and arithmetic . I still think Peugeot 5008 is a value proposition to buy compare to a Mercedes GLC. Why?? Imagine after Five year of ownership, the retained value of 5008 says 40% and GLC is 55% . Depreciated lose value calculation below 60% of 175k versus 45% of 300K is 105K and 135K respectively depreciated value. Secondly, with interest rate let say 3.5% annually for both with loan of 5 years , GLC extra cost 125k over 5008 would incurred additional 22K. Imagine the insurance cost ( imaginary NCB) say 2k extra for 5 years says, 10K extra for GLC over 5008. Overall loses ( exclude the interest for both for the first 175K ) for both Peugeot 5008 and Mercedes GLC is 105K and ( 135K+ 22K+10K = 167K. So overall , the GLC will lose more money than owning a 5008 in five years by 62k. The extra 62k is close enough to cover the cost of Peugeot 40% retained value after 5 years of ownership . Obviously , 5008 will not sell without any value to the next buyer after 5 years even a point a zero sum game , the Peugeot 5008 is still worth compare to a GLC (will still keep losing its value in years to come till zero sum game). So looking at Peugeot with legendary road holdings , your review does amuse me to get a 5008 based on some simple arithmetic . Imagine , I change car every five to six years . But obviously I would like to see a clearer direction on whom would be new franchise holder before I embark on new one. Just waiting on news now . Thanks

@@konsen6149 i found GLC seat position is too low even with the maximum height adjustment, hard to get a commanding view of the car, however if u drive it in restricted asian country like singapore, it wont be a problem, but if u drive it in thailand, indonesia, india, then you have to drive it carefully cos the awareness of surrounding has become minimal with less constructed view compared to tiguan, 5008, cx9 with much better view

@@highsector X3 and XC60 had better driver's position and commanding view than GLC. Q5 is irrelevant for Malaysian market .

@@KonWaiLuen I feel that the 5008 in term of comfort and road holding is much better than all space. Peugeot had always been famous for its ride comfort and road holding except the engines ( lacking of some refinements and power ) . VW is a bit of everything :- comfort but not comfort, luxury but not luxury, powerful but not really powerful , refine but not really refine . Always feel something is lacking whenever you are inside a VW vehicles compare to other vehicles .

We just bought a 5008, and it's a great car. Coz all of our cars are JDM. It's good in handling, comfort and premium feel. PPV's not an option coz very common.

1st kudos to kon and gang ! Keep up with the contents . Next my views , mpv vs suv,, trend or not, suvs will not replacing the mpv in terms of carrying 7 people properly and comfortably . 5008 is at most a in case of emergency 7 seater . Getting in and out of the 3rd row for most suvs is at most time an art . Unless you are 5 foot and below . European cars the 3rd row are many for children . So you want to carry 6 or more people comfortably it will be an mpv. Lastly and sad to say buying a French car in our region is not the wisest choice when you want to service you vehicle at the free workshop. You want to be different with nice design and go back to the Oes to service you car for its life sure go ahead cause yolo. But hey there are better cars out there for the total driving and living enjoyment. Ps suv is really an estate on stills really how is it still a think? I guess fashion and and the feel of having a more commanding view and sitting position. whatever that is ...

There will of course still be a place for full on refrigerator MPVs like the Vellfire, Alphard, or even the Serena. But the European take on the MPV concept is losing traction to 7-seater SUVs that offer similar utility in a more attractive bodystyle.

I would go for either 5008 or Tiguan.. I won't go for CX-8, the seven seater doesn't have the high specs version..

either 5008 or CX8, or better a used CX9. I have not driven the Tiguan Allspace but i’ve driven the regular tiguan. NVH on the poorer side, suspension quite firm and harsh. Handling not bad though. Estima is obsolete and no point considering if you can afford up to CX8 price range.

@@brandonczw i also driven the normal tiguan, suspension is really standard with noises on bad road, 5008 suspension is really good, handling for both of them is similar, i feel cx9 suspension is below 5008.

Apparently in this CKD, it looks like they literally pluck the seats out of the 3008. The CBU has the 3 individual seats in the middle.
