I still cry watching it these days. I don’t think the kids were made aware of it, but it still was staged. On the other hand the company eliminated most trainees of this big whole ass group to end up with the 9 final members so I guess there was somehow a consent on debuting them together.

@@HopeeInk I also think that the kids did not know (at least those who were eliminated) because I saw Minho helding back to the last, tears were there in his eyes, but he was holding on and broke down and cried only when Chan hugged him ... But it was even worse to watch when he apologized with a meek gentle smile that he had let everyone down and could not pass. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE!

I think he definitely discussed the lineup with JYPE during the show and knew, maybe not at the moment of eliminarion, but I'am sure that when JYP brought them back in, Chan had already known about it. Like... Chan wasn't even surprised back then, he seemed just glad and kinda relieved. As if something really hard and unpleasant was finally over. And someone said at that moment, either Han or Changbin "why didn't you tell us"? I think they meant Chan and the producers.

@@paladiana-maria8610 I have a strong feeling that people saying stuff like “boys knew, especially Chan since he’s a leader” - totally didn’t witnessed the reality show in real time in 2017. even If elimination was staged by the company, I’m pretty much sure boys didn’t know, cause you can’t stage such pain and boys to this day always talk about how hard of a time they had during eliminations and how lost they were. felix said he came back to the dorm thinking it was over for him. minho almost never cries and the fact that he did it there makes me realise how truly painful it was for him. all of us cried, we signed petitions and made a lot of hashtags to ask company to give them second chance, I personally thought that and fans love for the members was the reason why they gave it to them.

Produce programs are extremely manipulated. Starship paid for Wonyoung's 1st place and everyone knows. There was no way she could have beaten Sakura and been in 1st place. It was impossible... But, the producers wouldn't let a Japanese be the center. P.S: and it worked out right... she became the center of the group and today she is one of the most well-known idols of the 4th generation. And let's face it, she pretty much pays the company bills... I mean her group.

Fu Yaning was done dirty. Mnet just used her for ratings then proceeded to dump her. If Fu Yaning made it to the finale lineup then it would've made sense as a redemption story arc. Yaning was talented enough to be in Kep1er and could've been a Chinese friend for Xiaoting.

The stray kids one is actually pretty hurtful considering how personal that survival show was compared to the bigger ones. This was a group likely told they're on the debut team for months prior, but that this was their final passing test to actually debut and/or in a worst case scenario a surprise final test (after they already had recorded hellevator). Not only that, they basically utilized personal doubts to basically make them fear more to motivate vs actual productive criticism. You can see Felix's confidence in Korean basically be nonexistent for quite a while after their debut (more so than normal for foreign idols) and there's argument to be made that LeeKnow "stepped back" in a sense and then worried for the backlash for being so "cold". I don't doubt they both grew from the experience and that the group gained trust in each other "against" the producers which helped later in face of any drama, but at the same time it wasn't exactly successful in making people think it was real. LeeKnow being dropped was kind of a "don't know why you would drop the veteran dancer, but I guess okay", but Felix being dropped was kind of a "there's so few actual basses in Korea??? let alone idol beauty types????" sort of a moment that it made it clear it was for marketing. It did well for the group long term perhaps, but it was definitely a high risk high reward sort of situation. LeeKnow could've easily left to become a trainee elsewhere considering his experience and Felix could've easily also never bloomed with such a confidence hit at that age/also left considering again a true bass is so hard to find. This of course isn't including the damage to the other members (though I guess it was good practice for when Woojin left).

they evil-edited Yaning, Zing Qiao, Cai Bing, & Ruiqi coz all of them were threats to their Korean favorites, they only need one Chinese member and that was Xiaoting. And if you think Xiaoting wasn't evil edited then you're wrong, they made her a lousy dancer during their "How You Like That" performance where she was the center. They made Xiaoting feel that she was not enough for a main dancer & center position. MNET also used Yurina for the XiaoRina clout and then throw her off the bus by changing the rules in the final voting. It was pretty obvious coz if they won't change the rules, then there is a possibility that 4 or 5 Chinese members and 3 Japanese members will make the cut, and either Xiaoting or Yurina will become the center

Bro SM also made Taeyong use a lower tone while talking and recording even though Taeyong had a lighter and breathier tone. Taeyong talked about it himself and said how the trainers ordered him to use lower tone and huskier pitch and how he had to practice talking like that for so long. No hate at all, I didn't watch The Howling I only saw some parts when a streamer reacted and tbh its nowhere near the skz survival show. I don't blame the participants but skz show was based on making a song, performance, battles and also interactive content (if u take out the traumatizing parts) but with the moderner shows it feels like they put the members on a forced interaction to make weird things that the show gets more attention... to me it's just boys with dreams and prolly also good talents (which weren't promoted enough in the show from what I saw) auditioning but the show is not what they expected and they get anxious bcz it's not what they prepared for. Idk it's just the directors and editors making the interactions extremely awkward.
