Some group's companies had the foresight to transfer all their VLive material to a new platform, others had dedicated enough fanbases to make copies of everything and re-upload them to KZbin. But how much history did we lose when VLive closed down..?

Yes~~~ I have some of h.o.t.’s albums that contain access codes for behind footage. Smtown website used to have a portal to input the codes, but it no longer exists and I cannot find the footage either!!! It makes me so sad because there is so little content for older groups when they were still active😭😭😭😭😭😭

This is why I Archive so much Vpop (Vietnamese pop) content from music videos, to song audio, to random KZbin videos or even Facebook videos. It's not as big as current Kpop is, so it doesn't get reposted as much if at all, so like if something is gone then it is gone especially since alot of it is only digital media very few physical releases exist.

aespas black mamba mv used some clips from the first mv shoot ! all the scenes where karinas eyebrows are arched are from the first mv shoot filmed in early 2020. a lot of the solo shots are from the first shoot aswell. ningnings and giselles silver hair are from the first shoot. winters hair was also more of a barbie blonde in the first shoot. karinas hair stayed the same but sometime in mid 2020 she reshaped her brows to make them more straight. i remember fans finding story posts from dancers from the first shoot where they had also worn outfits for a performance. ningning had a super long silver braided ponytail in that one. giselles hair was also still silver

Back when Nine Muses was in it's early days there was footage, of which, most of it ended up in the bbc documentary, however about a minute of footage that has been erased shows one of the douchey managers harassing Sera who was in hospital with an IV due to fatigue, telling her she's a bad leader and useless for being in hospital. Not sure if it was the same manager that was slapping her face. Only saw a clip of it once. It's from the same source as the documentary though

Super Junior "Devil". The original MV sometime around the release, it became known that the model playing the femme fatale they all crush on in the video was underage, so the MV was not released on TV. The guys filmed a dance video in a hurry on Doni and Coni's TV set in front of the white scrim, which is the one most viewed today. The MV eventually was to youtube international channels, but to this day we ELF just watch the dance video. SPY as well - the MV didn't pass the Korean censors for some reason. The guys got back in the studio and filmed the dance again again. The released MV is a combo of some original footage with dance cuts slotted in. You can tell which is which because Siwon was on a TV show on that one re-filming day so one part shows Siwon, the other does not. They instead use bucu solo images of Siwon from the original footage.

i still have hopes for la maison (🤡) because although loona members are split up at the moment, orbits likely won’t be able to support them like this for a very long time. it’s unfortunate, but they really aren’t drawing in that many new fans than they had during loona era meaning its not really sustainable for orbits’ wallets or for the companies they are signed to. i think they’ll eventually have to either reunite under a company (one which can afford 12 members group and doesnt have them blacklisted, so probably modhaus, but i know some loona members seem to have more problem with jaden jeong than others) or risk some of them leaving the industry. and if they reunite under modhaus im pretty confident we would get la maison

Im really into both lost songs and kpop, yet somehow I have never considered lost songs in kpop, but now that I think about it there are so many, for example some you didnt mention like the original version of Blackpinks "ready for love" which I actually listened to (well a pirated version that was puzzled together from various snippets we had from the song) and absolutely loved, but now that the song has been released it has basically entirely disappeared. SJ had 13 members! and than they had there chinese unit that had 2 other members. making it really 15. i know Han Geng is Chinese but he was always apart of the OG line up. Suju’s lore is crazy. Like I stan only the 9 or 10 members that have been active since 2019 on bc that’s when I stanned (it’s a little unclear on sungmin). In fact almost all of sm groups have crazy member loss lores but I will truly never understand sujus. Like TVXQ where I thought I stanned only the 2 active members but now with Jaejoong being in the media a lot I’m wondering if should add him and possible the other member (Xia?) when their unit debuts. But apparently the 5th member was a really bad person? Then ofc there is exo who lost thier 3 Chinese members and Lay with his issues and one of thier members also ended up in jail so I’m definitely an official ot9 and unofficial ot11 bc screw Kris. Snsd i don’t stan as a whole but rather some of them as solo artists such as taeyeon and Tiffany, but they also had thier whole drama and complications with members. And then that all still continues to this date with nct having so many lineup changes (both positive and negative) but at least I’m well versed in their lore since I’ve been stanning since 2018/9. And now riize with their mishandling of seunghan which might further affect their lineup issues if members decide to quit because of it or something. I’ve been a fan of kpop since 09 so I seen SuJu when they were at their peak and I remember declaring I would NOT be a fan of the group simply because there was to many members and I had never in my life seen a group so big. I fell in love with them because of their personalities before any song which is crazy when you think of it. Back then variety shows was a big thing to promote the groups because social media wasn’t a thing. SuJu members was on dozens of shows and they were hilarious. Same thing with DBSk/TVXQ. JaeJoong was always known to have a 4D personality ( no one uses that slang anymore 😂) but it means someone is weird or unique and random but people don’t say it as an insult. This guy was always a handful back in the day and I miss his interactions with Yunho. I don’t think Yoochun is a bad guy also a chick lied and said he R word her. It went beyond the music. It felt like it was this big club that all the idols and their fans were apart of. No overbearing social media. The idol’s wasn’t just on shows with their own group members but with OTHER GROUPS, ALL THE TIME. I’ll recommend some shows Invincible Youth, Roommate, Idol Army (SuJu junior has a season as does 2pm and MBLAQ these were the best ones take my word for it lol) X-MEN TVXQ was on this one a lot, good luck finding episodes of this show lol. You can search what Variety shows a groups been in and go from there. It will make u love ❤️ them watching them play games with each other lol.

@@JamaicaDiamond24 haha lol I really don’t have time for variety shows my adhd ass brain cannot handle it and I can’t sit still to watch 45 minute+ episodes of it (even I’m having a hard time watching some of my favorite bls and survival shows for this reason alone). As for Yoochun, I still don’t think I’ll really stan him as I don’t know much about him yet but it’s good to know it was just drugs and the accusations were most likely (? I didn’t look into it) false. Korea is crazy strict on drugs even park bom was hated for taking her prescribed adhd meds. As for falling for a group for personality first before their songs, I can actually totally relate to this because my favorite group (tripleS) is like this. I saw an ad for their first member reveal seoyeon and I absolutely fell in love with her within a week once I saw she was just an average 18 year old girl (like me I had just celebrated my 19th birthday) who had no previous training skills. From that moment on i dedicated myself to watching their journey to becoming a 24 membered girl group. If you don’t know them, go check out their song Girls Never Die as 24 and their newest subunit’s song Hit The Floor. It’s a 12 members dance subunit. But I watch most of their content and it’s been my first time watching variety shows and especially watching this new jaejoong content with him interacting with them and then also 2nd gen idols and nowadays and hui, it’s fascinating. And yes we do still use the term 4D personality lol I understood you. Also I always particularly feel bonded to TVXQ as they debuted in the year I was born (you probably think I’m a baby 🫣)

unreleased or deleted stuff are one thing, but I always think about things that were released and just disappear over time. H.O.T. "age of peace" movie creeps me out, to think that it was on the news, people watch it and bought tapes of it, and now it's gone is so weird. You can find the trailer, sinopsis, interviews, behind the scenes, descriptions of the plot, and even the original soundtrack but the movie is gone. And it was never deleted, people just forgot about it and now nobody can find it. It's also weird cause it's part of the Korean history, as the first Korean 3d animated movie, but still, no one can watch it anymore

Oh no, it 100% was deleted. It's well known that the movie was a commercial failure, mainly due to the issue of not many places in Korea having movie theaters that were capable of playing 3D movies at the time. Lee Soo Man had most of it completely wiped from everywhere, which is why you can only find the soundtrack, and a mv with some scenes. It also was supposedly terrible. I don't think it was ever released anywhere. Not many people watched it because, again, they weren't able to travel to movie theaters in the country that had 3D readily available. It was just an error on SM's part.

But if SM wanted to disappear so bad, then why would one of the members of H.O.T. release the trailer in their own social media? they could just pretend it never happened... SuperM was supposed to come in 2023, but due Kai and Taeyong’s sudden enlightenments, Baekhyun and Taemin’s departure and Lucas being out of NCT and WayV, I don’t think it will most likely happen. But if the EVER come back, they might add Wonbin and Sohee of RIIZE in the lineup….but I don’t think it could happen because of the age gap between Baekhyun and Sohee.

The thing with lost media especially in the kpop scene is that it's near impossible to reach out to someone who's involved in the media to get more info (especially kpop idols because *side eyes*). I highly doubt many of these will be found unless an experienced leaker managed to get their hands on it but that's just my pessimistic view anyway. Right now, I'm just keeping a keen eye on H.O.T's lost sci-fi movie.

I think the only lost media i can think of with SHINee is one that makes sense. See during their promotions in japan for their 5th Japanese Album "FIVE", they held a tour in japan for the album drop. SHINee did that with every important release, where they hold a tour during their big releases. Like SHINee World DxDxD, SHINee World 'I'm Your Boy' and whatnot. But once they wrapped up SHINee FIVE promotions, they were working on a DVD & Blu-Ray release but due to the events at the end of 2017 including allegations about Onew being released during their tour, the concert's physical release never ended up being released. I don't remember where i saw this, but I'm pretty sure i saw somewhere that they didn't want to profit off of Jonghyun so they never ended up releasing it. But you'd have to research more than me, it's all a blur.
