i’m open to having a convo about this but i feel the main reason theres so many saesangs and fans that are against idols dating for example is because of the image these idols are made to present. these idols are marketed as perfect boyfriends/girlfriends and purposely make their interactions with fans personal, it creates a sense of ownership of the idol in saesangs, a sense that “this person belongs to me and therefore i should do whatever i can to be with them because they must be in love with me too”. Now this absolutely doesn’t excuse the shit these idols have to go through and the complete invasion of privacy but yeah just a thought.

The main reason that I can think of is: They're more marketable that way. Companies are just about the money, nothing else. The "fans" who take it to the extreme and do things like this have invested a lot of their time, effort, and money on the idols and that, in turn, makes them think that the idols are their property. There are literally looootttttsss of encounters between exo and their sasaengs. Baekhyun shared one time that a “fan” he knew turns out to be two-faced. She was actually a sasaeng. Baek found her with another sasaeng outside his/their house's door (maybe their dorm?) and expressed his disappointment because he knew her for a long time already. Baekhyun even beg for the 2 sasaengs to protect his privacy 😭 A sasaeng once also stole Kyungsoo's boxer and even posted it online. Leik wtf??!?! EXO are who directed me to this love of Kpop, Jpop, Cpop. The boys were all so talented. Their singing was engaging. Their choreography stellar. I knew I wanted to listen to more songs and more groups like them. Unless it was dubbed so I could understand the song, I just listened and danced to the beat. The songs made me a happier person. I didn't know about them as a teenager. I knew them as a mom of two tween girls. At 51 years of age I still consider myself as a fan. I don't see them as a teen idol but rather as talented boys of whom I'd admire. I am so proud of what all they have done. I'm so happy that they are such good boys. Seeing this video and reading these comments makes me so sad. I know that any choice can come with good and bad consequences. These boys are doing something they love, something that makes them happy. Everyone should be happy in this life. To hear them having to dodge crazy fans in such a way is just heartbreaking. They shouldn't be fearful when they are chasing their dream. Their company really needs to protect them. I know from a motherly perspective I would love to do all I could to protect them but I know I cannot. It's not just EXO either, but all of the industry from all the different countries. These companies should recognize their talent, they should appreciate their talent, and they should protect their talent.

i remember jungkook was doing a vlive when he was in the states I believe, in 2019, and he kept getting phone calls from a sasaeng and he said please stop, etc and they did not. also, tae from bts said a sasaeng was on a plane with them and he was so scared and uncomfortable, asked them to stop. crazy people with no life.

I'm shocked to see that SM's artists are not protected at all. BTS was in a situation where the saesangs were literally sleeping outside their house. They had to move to a security complex for their safety. Also they were bothered by saesangs on public airplains. Now they have their own airplain. Still somehow saesangs will find out their schedule. The faces of our idols being scared is heart breaking.

I'm watching this and I'm thinking to myself.... where are their companies????? The security??? How can the companies be so careless as to have their artist's personal information being leaked and on multiple occasions??? And so far as to having their dorm addresses being public information. Something needs to be done. That's one of the things I like about HYBE. For the most part, they ensure that their artists are protected.

They are just crazy!!! Like...If u love someone u should support him/her rather than following and stalking them. Privacy is also a thing that exists in this world. Kindly keep this in mind. Everyone love their privacy. Idols work the whole day for their fans, and then in return (sometimes) they get back stalkers. Idols r humans too.....Kindly treat them like one.

EXO's sasaengs even tried to kidnap them, they crashed a wedding just to get to them, they were waiting for Baekhyun in front of his door and tried to break in, stole Kyungsoo's underwear, tried to take pictures of Chen's newborn the day her mom gave birth to her, one of them started this crazy rumour about Chanyeol, saying he's a womanizer and he ab*sed her emotionally and then she tried blackmailing him, they also keep stealing their stuff, getting physical with them and following them everywhere. And yet EXO are still the most humble and kind idols, personally I think I'd give up being an idol after all this turmoil.
