It's time YG realises that their marketing strategy for BP is outdated. To be honest... they won't fill any bigger venues seeing how they haven't sold out the small venues they have now. There are tickets still available for this tour in all locations. However, the prices for those tickets are outrageous and not just from resellers. They were already expensive to begin with and once the album dropped, people were disappointed and are selling their tickets because they don't feel like it's worth the money. The presale event was a mess and YG fumbled the bag on that by not sending out enough codes for the sales. They added dates for the tour, but the prices got even higher with the new dates. I have never seen such a mess while buying concert tickets and if you go on weverse, the blinks on there are also very disappointed with the whole ordeal. The comeback was lacking, the songs were not worth the wait, the album didn't have enough songs, and the songs that they did have weren't anything special. Not saying that they aren't good, just not enough. It just feels like it's missing so much and we all know they can do way better. Maybe it's time for them to move on from their agency, try something new and see how that goes.

Blackpink is musically unproductive - this is what you really mean. I’m also disappointed because YG is leaning too heavily on the celebrity status income they get. Fans and probably the girls assumed a specific job description but now it feels like there is a mismatch. For some fans, celebrity status is enough. What YG doesn’t realize is that there are fans who are primarily music-consumers like I am. I actually think BPs work is pretty structured. Of course purely company driven. They make more money with their sponsorships/ambasadorships than music. So they have a lot of those. Music is to keep them relevant in the music industry, get them even bigger gigs/collabs. So they dont have many releases. TBH even without their music, we see them in the news everyday. So why would yge put effort, by creating concepts, making tracks, creating "expensive" mvs As for the boy groups, it doesnt matter, they can do whatever they want. And as musicians they make music, which is why we get more music releases from them. * still not a lot of releases * Money wise with BP, yge is all set. How could YG have ruined Blackpink when YG has successfully turned them into models and influencers? I think Blackpink members will beg to defer because of the big bucks they are getting. MONEY IS EVERYTHING. A company decides what they want to do with their artistes so long they can bring in money. Blackpink is bringing in profits for YG and that's the most important. Blackpink is just a product. Blinks supports YG's product but that doesn't mean Blackpink need to give more comebacks or put more effort into their supposed-role as singer/dancers/rappers for Blinks. Even if you pay money for Blackpink's concert, you have no right to demand them to sing live, to dance in-sync or to give their 101%. Blackpink will definitely renew their contract. YG played a dangerous game with blackpink from the start, they had very sloppy promotion for their debut, for a long time, performed here and there, that was it, but blackpink catapulted to success almost as if by chance. their promotion almost entirely ended after kill this love, we got nothing in that era, nothing, and 1 year hiatus with literally no appearance, their youtube was dead, fan calls nowhere, they disappeared. if any, and by any group, may it even be twice or bts, taht would have caused irreplaceable damage, blackpink returned quietly in 2020, no variety, a few interviews, a few performances, nothing more, and then disappeared again for two fucking years, any other group would have been dead by now, and guess what, they sold 2 million in 2 days, the promotion was one live, one interview, 2 pre recorded videos.

Even the VMAs broke their guidelines to let BP on to perform and be nominated. Just shows that YG is trying 10x harder this cb to keep them in the public eye.

To be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if the girls do decide to resign with YG. I heard that from a recent interview Jennie mentioned something about liking to work with YG, because YG understands them best. Makes me wonder if the girls actually no longer mind their lack of comebacks/group activities. Because when you think about it, they’re probs earning millions from their brand deals and those seem more comfortable for them to work with since it’s just working behind the scenes on photo shoots and traveling to fashion shows where they get insanely spoiled, whereas for comebacks, they must actively remain in the public eye which can be more stressful for them regarding their fame and the constant expectations/pressure from the public. Besides, they don’t seem to be that passionate about music anymore, except for Rosé, so that’s what’s led me to think like this. So they’d remain comfortable as their biggest priority would be their brand deals and occasionally work on a comeback every 1-2 years to please the fans, and YG’s got nothing to worry about since they’re still gonna be earning good money off of them. PS: this is the way that I’ve interpreted the situation. My intentions are not of throwing hate to the girls whatsoever. I hope my message doesn’t come off as if I’m implying that the girls aren’t hardworking. What I mean is that they seem to prefer working with their brand deals over having comebacks for the reasons that I stated.

YG definitely mishandles BP but after seeing the Born Pink concert, BP themselves don't seem to be interested in performing well anymore. The entire concert was so unsynchronised, it just seems like they're going through the motions and not enjoying their songs. While I do agree that YG should give all the members equal opportunities, asking for more BP content is asking for the girls to work more, and idk a single adult who wants to work more even if they love their job 🤷🏻‍♀️ also, there's a difference between being artists and being idols, BP are idols so the music is not their only job, this has always been a clear distinction in korea but with kpop music going mainstream a lot of fans are under the impresion that idols are musicians when in reality the big majority of idols are entertainers with a lot of talents, the companies do train idols in dancing and singing but those are not the only skills they learn. It would be better if YG balanced all their activities better but is quite obvious they are prioritizing the more profitable activities and they don't promote a lot bc they don't really need to, BP is an established brand and the name sells. And they probably will keep doing the same as long as it keep working, sadly that's not what most fans want but YG has a record of not listening to fans 😑

I am not Blackpink 's fan , i don't listen their songs but YG is like good at promoting blackpink, i realised it when Lisa got popular kpop artist paper award, and only blackpink k-pop group was present there, other groups didn't attended the award so it was obvious that it was fixed but YG is controlling Blackpink, which is not good for them

honestly though whatever yg is doing seems to be working because the more thirsty the fans via waiting for the next comeback are the more successful it has become. unless the time will tell that the fans do not like this type of strategy that yg is doing it will keep on going. honestly, even this type of strategy is risky because fans will get tired of waiting. I'm thinking the next comeback (if ever the members will renew, but I think they will because the truth is BP won't be without yg) will make or break the group

I believe all of this is intentional. By keeping the girls restricted to Teddy's production it's easier to maintain an identity, and keeping the releases as sparse as possible they don't get too repetitive plus keeps the fans always hungry for more. Blackpink's management is 100% money focused and that's probabbly why they're the no.1 girlgroup in the world right now. It's kinda sad that even their lyrics come to build this image of money making when at the end of the day it's at the expense of the fans and members' frustration... idk it's complex. I hope the girls are happy

How YG Completely RUINED Blackpink? except the length of their discography i don't have a problem . Because of Yg strategy BP are at the top since D1 , the video talks about their rookie days like a group that didn't succeed at all :D People are freaking out for their disbandment, something that is stil in the future . videos like this have been made probably 1000 of times , and it's only in negative way. I have no idea how BP survived so far with such negativity from every direction sheesh. Let's enjoy their WORLD TOUR , can't wait to see them live.

This breaks my heart. I got into Blackpink and then K-Pop as a whole because of Lady Gaga (collab. with BLACKPINK) and a friend of mine. Seeing this sucks because I deep dived into them and always hoped for more. Hopefully, the future will look bright. If not, hopefully it will be peaceful.

The way yg is treating the girls is not okay. They have a lot of potential and I can’t see it get wasted like this. I was satisfied with their comeback but only 8 tracks? For 2 years? I’m sorry but what? And I’m not sure yg can even run his company now. Blackpink deserves more. I really hope they don’t disband but cut ties with yg and continue under another company, if that’s possible. Else I agree with Jennie, rose and Lisa continuing abroad while jisoo becoming an actress (snowdrop was amazing!) they deserve so much more than what they have now. they were trainees for literally years and the fact that they've been treated like this even before their debut is just amazing to me, and YGE thinks its okay to waste them like that and instead give all the new groups more. honestly, I have hopes for them as a group, I just wish they would sign to another label. all YGE does is just burns them out and treats them like shit, and all they get is hate. literally no matter what they do even when they just breathe, they get attacked like crazy to the point where people just try and dig for other things to hate them for and its ridiculous. right when you talked about Jennie's song "solo" at 4:48 and how it got her hate because she was the first one to get her solo debut before the other members and that people were bashing on her just because they thought it wasn't fair, I instantly said that the same people would've done the same exact thing to any of the other members if they got their solo first. even their songs in general now just have hate going both ways where people would say "its sounds too much like D4, HTL, and HYLT they need something new" and "the chorus didn't have that feeling like D4, KTL, or HYLT it sounds too different", all it is is just constant back and forth of being unfair. tbh YGE has never gave a shit about them in the first place, I feel like it was all intentional to completely waste and sabotage their career by always delaying them and giving them the bare minimum. they need to leave YGE!!!

I love Blackpink so much, they are my ult group but cmon YG. I seriously wish they couldn’t released more in their early years because their music is top tier and they would have more to show to the public. Personally I don’t like albums that have more than 10 songs so their Albums are a perfect length for my taste. But the year long hiatuses of waiting are so long for us blinks to wait.
