Second only to The Jacksons that year, Kool and the Gang was easily the second best touring band that year (1984). They could switch up to soul, funk, rock, and jazz without missing a beat and did all genre's as good or better than any other act. Also JT is in full mastery mode, he has total command of the stage. I love the Gang!!!!

I've always loved Kool And The Gang! Their music brings back great memories for me. These men were simply pure talent all around & really sang & played real instruments....LIVE!!! No faking of any kind. No lip-syncing etc;. Such beautiful voices & such wonderful, happy & peace loving music. ADORABLE guys & their outfits, TOTALLY 80's chic!!!😄 May all deceased Kool & The Gang band members RIP eternally.🙏 Your loved ones, friends & fans miss you all very much & will always keep your lives, your music and your memories alive forever more.🙏 Thank you, Kool And The Gang, for your gifts and your music! We, your fans, LOVED YOU all then and LOVE YOU now in spirit, for those who've sadly passed. Thank you once again, Reelblack One, for another awesome archived video!! Here's sending my best wishes to all of your viewers. May positivity, love, light, happiness and peace, envelop you all.

I was lucky enough to live through these special years as a teenager and JT and the band were my go to for funky grooves. Few will ever emulate this sort of creativity and talent again in my opinion. You had to be there living the 80's to understand. Those who were there, you know what i'm talking about, for those who missed out, well I would highly recommend you go make a mix tape (playlist) with some of these timeless classics.....

This show was done at my hometown New Orleans during The 1984 World's Far. I didn't attend this show but this brings back memories going to The World's Fair. It's unfortunate that The World's Fair was a failure in The Big Easy. Oh well, thanks for posting this concert. Oh yeah "Why the song "Joanna" was cut out of this concert? That's a classic. And I would had been a little tick if I went to this show and they didn't play "Jungle Boogie" another classic.
