Used to fish the Lea from waltham abbey up through cheshunt Broxbourne and Dobbs weir... in the 70s and 80s got some cracking Bream Perch and Tench... I never fished those lakes though... I'ts now on my bucket list. I'm 59 now and restarted fishing about 2 years ago.

Korda pays well, you’re welcome Tom. Prices should be 1/3 of what they are with all Carp brands. I do all my angling on a tight budget graft for my results on public waters. Don’t blame ya for doing it, but this isn’t reality for 99.8%

You're right, carp anglers especially are getting mugged off when it comes to tackle, bait, and even little bits of rubber! Consider that when Chris Yates broke the record he was using vintage tackle. Not saying do that but the balance must be somewhere in the middle. A lot of stuff is there to catch the fisherman and not the fish.
