Amazing match from start to finish. Two top teams led by the olympic champion and the world champion. My hats off to both teams. Any one of them would've been a winner on any given day. What could be the greatest saber team match of all time was ALMOST ruined by the exceptionally poor mannerism by the crowd and the commentators' strong bias in favor of the Hungarians. Note the commentators language and the tone of voice all cheered for their favorite, the Hungarians, to win. They should be ashamed. I hope FIE did not pay for these commentators. If they did, FIE should be ashamed as well. FIE should do a better job of selecting commentators based on the strong knowledge of BOTH competing sides without bias.

Well if you have amazing biometrics then you'll be fine. For those of us who aren't Mr. Fantastic, I wouldn't recommend trying to be Korean without really harnessing your basics. Master the footwork and the distance. Then you can worry about pushing your limits.

How well are caucasians regarded in sports like Traditional Korean Archery? I imagine there'd be some tension and distrust in the community if it were more popular or an Olympic sport. All races and ethnicities are elitist when it comes to pride in their own culture, some of it is unnecessary but it's also needed to preserve culture. I'm not going to accept "Europeans are kind of racist in general" as a statement, because it is itself racist, and therefore a very stupid way of thinking. Obviously there shouldn't be racism in any sport. The commentators seemed quite fair to me, many compliments were given to both sides.

One of the most intense and exciting match I have ever seen!! The last round Oh is not as good as usual, his attack is not fierce enough. Gemesi and Deci both did much better than I expected, and caused a great preasure to Korean successfully. Korea team used many young guys, it is good because Korean Team are willing to take risk to train new generations in final match.

you also got to remember, oh is fencing the best fencer on the other team in the last leg. After countless tournaments of domination by the Korean team , it would only made sense that they have studied Oh and have moves in place to counter the stuff he does. You can tell that aron had a plan coming into the final against oh. He let oh consistently commit first and after oh got uncomfortable to attack, aron attacked himself.

Anyone who thinks this is a bad crowd is part of the reason fencing will continue to stay as an irrelevant sport in the mainstream. I was there and I’m being honest I didn’t hear anyone saying racist stuff (obviously this was a huge match to us bc it was at Hungary and Hungary fenced and we cheered like everyone else would) and it was one of the best days of my life but everyone just keeps saying rude stuff in the comments like “the crowd this and that” like that’s annoys me so much and we even cheered for Korea when they won after that so like think before comment

There were also people who rarely go to fencing competitions (since they held a World Championship in Hungary a very long time before that) and maybe they were used to supporting other sports. And in other sports, booing is very common when they disagree with the referee’s verdict. ( Because whatever Koreans are so easily accusing others about here, Hungarians were not booing Korean fencers, but the judgments.)
