Such a great idea to have an area where you pick you what you're going to grill! They have someone prep the grill for you? Wow. That is glamping! Oh, and the Pocket 3 with the wide angle was much better for the cafe scene! But, it worked really well for the food close up shot where you had the pocket 3 on the tripod where you were grilling. That is something I mentioned for an earlier video (not sure if you already had the idea) but you have executed on that so well. I am definitely going to have to use that in one of my upcoming vlogs. I think you've inspired me to do a grilling vlog!
@TravelingAhn11 ай бұрын
Yeah...the Action 4 should have been set at a "wide' angle rather than "ultra-wide" I thought the grilling part of the video was pretty cool too! It was just a quick idea and something I hadn't planned on shooting, but turned out well. Glad to hear that inspired you!

Ya'll are cute! Transitions were spot on, but I am not sure if the length of these would have mass appeal. Like with my Pocket 3 Christmas party vlog, I think maybe next time I'll show less of the traveling to (driving) and do something like a teleport. But, this is personal preference, and sometimes showcases special moments of the journey, like noticing the subway was a step up from what you are accustomed to.
@TravelingAhn11 ай бұрын
Yeah, you are correct about the length. In hindsight, could have made two parts to this and taken the bonus footage and made it separate. But yeah, live and learn 😂 But, at the end of the day...we always have the next video 😃

@@TravelingAhnThat's what it's all about! It's odd for me that I can't see some things until I post them. Sometimes not for a while even after posting. I actually didn't realize my mistake when I saw Evan's megavlog where he was able to show transition during his road trip but it was very, very short. Cool little camp spot there, the bbq set up looks nice also for a quick trip out to that area by train and bus it looks nice. The food looks great also, is the chicken soup in the broth with a traditional style taste or do they add flavour to it? The donut is similar to what we have a berlina or jam donut, looks good.

Nice one, Adam! Looks like you guys had a great day at Dobongsan. Cafe Doyoung wasn't around the last time I went through there, so I dug around and it looks like it opened in 2022. Just a couple of doors over, there's a great tofu place called Dobongsan Dubu. For a minute there I was worried it might be gone now if they're opening up modern cafes around it. But it's still there. Phew! When I hike Dobong, I usually go up at Ui-dong and come down this way. I usually drop by there for some tofu. It's one of my favorite spots.

So finished this up at the gym. That was such a neat experience and for under $70 that is a great deal. Prices are 25% higher than pre-pandemic for restaurants here in the states. I also enjoyed the bonus footage. There seems to be so many restaurants. I noticed that you all eat a lot of soups. Is that Korean traditional meals or is that your choice of restaurants or the time of year. They look great, btw, especially the ones in the ceramic bowls that keep the soup warm!

Hey Tim, yeah soups are HUGE in Korea culture for both winter and summer 😂 The the Stone Pot bowls are something USA should adopt in restaurants, but I think they fear kids burning themselves.

It seems that action 4 and pocket 3 combo worked pretty well. Did u color grade your footages? Or just did color correction? Honestly the action 4 internal color grading (normal mode) was already good. Just need a bit of color correction regarding fixing the color and/or exposure due to the sudden change that caused by the auto white balance (if u shoot in auto mode). Especially for the pocket 3, due to the bokeh background, I think it only works for close shots. Mostly talking heads shots. Personally I prefer shooting with action 4+ gimbal. Although pocket 3's simplicity is very convenient
@TravelingAhn11 ай бұрын
Hello Yaya, I really do love having both cameras! I kept the Pocket 3 in Normal Color Profile (10 bit) and did not color-grade. However, the Action 4 was done in D-Log with the DJI Lut applied to it (no additional color-grade). You are correct in your assessments with dealing with Auto WB. The Pocket 3 is certainly so convenient, but using a gimbal for the Action 4 is quite a nice experience too!
@oldachyrunner11 ай бұрын
Hello, I've been enjoying all your videos, especially ones reviewing the Pocket 3 since I plan on getting one soon (along with the Action 4) for a travel vlog I will be starting in May. I'm also planning on getting the DJI Mic 2, but when you used it in this video, it came across really muddy when watching on my TV. I much preferred the sound quality of the in-body mic on the Action 4. I'm rethinking getting the Mic 2 after hearing it in this video. I would go with the Rode Wireless Pro, but I don't want to have to attach a receiver to the Pocket 3. I'm assuming you were connected via Bluetooth to the Pocket 3 (not having the receiver plugged in to the Pocket 3). Is that correct? And I'm also assuming you then used the in camera audio and not the 32-bit float in the transmitter, is that also correct? Thanks for the videos. My partner and I watch them all, as she is also originally from South Korea. 🙂
@TravelingAhn11 ай бұрын
Hello Old Achy Runner! Thank you for your kind words and thoughts. Great decision on going with the Pocket 3 & Action 4 for your travel vlogs 👏 Overall, I still feel the DJI Mic 2 is not a bad investment. There were times when it was more a user error on my end (the Mic not positioned in an ideal way, or post editing the audio). In most cases I did use the camera audio (bluetooth connection) with the DJI Mic 2, but there were a couple of times in my videos where I did sync the 32 bit float. That's cool to hear your partner is from South Korea. Hopefully you two can come visit her home country in your travels!
@oldachyrunner11 ай бұрын
@@TravelingAhn Thanks for the reply! I'm glad to know that even if I have the DJI Mic 2 connected to the Pocket 3 via Bluetooth, I still have the option to use the 32-bit float recording on the transmitter and can synch in post. I thought I had read somewhere that you had to be using the Mic 2 external receiver plugged into the USB C port on the Pocket. 3 in order to have the 32 bit float recording available on the transmitter. Sounds like you still were able to grab the 32-bit float off of the transmitter even when you had it connected via Bluetooth to the Pocket 3. That gives me some comfort knowing that that is an option. 😅 And yes, we are hoping to be able to make it to Korea at some point during our travels. Think we'll be starting off in Europe mid May, and stay in each destination about a month at a time time. We'll see how it goes. Cheers!
@TravelingAhn11 ай бұрын
@@oldachyrunner Hello again, You for sure do not have to have the receiver connected to the Pocket 3 to have the 32 Bit Float working for you! The DJI Mic 2 itself will record a seperate file that you can transfer to your editing software to sync. You just want to ensure you have the option to sync the audio and also select the backup recording option so you can have the DJI Pocket 3 internal audio be another option for you!
@oldachyrunner11 ай бұрын
@@TravelingAhn Awesome! Thanks! 🙂 I really wish it was also possible to connect both mics simultaneously to the Action 4 without plugging in the receiver (like you can with the Pocket 3). Oh well, I'll mainly be filming with the Pocket 3. When using the Action 4 and needing 2 mics, I guess I'll just use the internal recording in both mics and synch in post, or just use the Action 4 in-body mic. Thanks again for your replies and all your videos and testing. 👏👍
@TravelingAhn11 ай бұрын
@@oldachyrunner Oh, you can connect the DJI Mic 2 directly to the Action 4...you just need to go through the process of pairing it (you won't need the receiver)...except if you want to use both mics on the Action 4 simultaneously.
