That is amazing story about loosing your formative friends. I've lost most of mine, from cancer (4) Alzheimer's (1) and one I visited the other day in a home, he has Delusional Dementia. I knew him from when we were seven, but now I'm not sure he recognises me fully. He did so many special effects for films like Mission Impossible Alien Star Wars including RD-D2. His work is well documented. While filming him on my Pocket, which was on a table he got up, walked across and put it in his pocket and walked off to the TV room, when I got the male nurse to get it off him, it said Gimbal Protection on the screen, I was wondering if it got broken and I had to claim from DJI what the form filling would have looked like. All the Best Dave

Greetings! I came to this channel looking for Pocket 3 info and found something much more compelling in your content. So sorry for your losses. Time steals people and changes places but you will always have your memories. Of course, it's important to form new bonds too and I'm pleased YT is working out for you in this respect. I recently turned 50 and really thought hard about the people who left us 20-30 years ago, far too young. I found this video therapeutic. Thank you.

Adam, first of all, I have to tell you that no matter what time of day I watch your videos (it's half past midnight here), you manage to make me hungry! 😂🤣 And secondly, I'm touched that you take our virtual relationships to heart because (I don't think I'm the only subscriber to think that) we're equally touched by your naturalness, your kindness, your optimism and your honesty. I'm particularly touched by all the close friends you've lost, in dramatic circumstances, I sympathize my friend! 😉I myself lost a friend who committed suicide in 2000, and I remeber that we always ask ourselves silly questions, like "I should have done that, or told him that", but, in the end, a suicide victim only sees his pain, so the entourage no longer exists (otherwise they wouldn't do it!), so we're always incompetent to help them. They've been alone on their dark continent for a long time... Thank you for your testimony ! :) Michael

I do hope one day we make it to Disney France and ensure a meetup with you! Yeah, suicide is a tragic thing and these days at least society is more open to discussing "mental health" Sorry to hear about your friend too. But, thank you Michael for your kind words and supporting me on this KZbin journey 🙏

Man, I didn't realize you lost all 4 of your childhood friends, and at least 3 of them in tragic ways. Being a military kid, we did travel around a lot but I do have some "friends" from junior high and h.s. still around physically, but are essentially lost in a culture of drugs that I can't be a part of so I can relate in some way to that. I'm really glad that you restarted your KZbin journey. It's funny, when I started my KZbin journey, I never thought that it would lead to friendships because this never occurred on platforms like Facebook or Instagram. In fact, I believe I lost friends there in the early days of arguing politics or religion. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think you get to know someone's true self when they create videos like this in a similar way to getting to know someone in real life that is not available on other platforms, or maybe it's just through longer form video we are able to read more into people. Regardless, I agree that I too have been surprised of the collateral benefits of making friends on KZbin when my original reason for joining was to see if I could turn it into a side hustle. Hey, maybe that algorithm 'aint so bad after all? Side note, just realized you are recording in 4K 60. I'm not sure how long you've been doing this, but I just noticed and it does give it a personal, real life kindof feel for vlogs like this. For some reason when the camera isn't on a tripod shooting a static shot, it doesn't give that soap-opera kindof look. Or maybe I'm just getting used to it. Anyways, talk to you soon and I'm looking forward to your video about your adoption experiences and thoughts.

Tim, I appreciate you! Yeah, it is sad to see friendships dissolve because of such things mentioned. Your responses have always been so thoughtful and that's what put you on the radar for me! I do feel like you are correct regarding getting to know people better on the KZbin platform! I almost don't like categorizing it under the same umbrella that Facebook, Instagram, X, Ticktock, etc. are under. Yeah, unless I'm doing a static dedicated studio setup (4k24)...I tend to gravitate towards 4K60. I know that's a big "no, no" 😂 for others. But, I have not shame 😂 Besides, I like the smoothness of 4K when I'm doing an active vlog. And most night scenes in Seoul are already so bright, that I don't have to take it down to 24, 30 fps to get a decent shot.

My walking tour channel is easy. I turn on the camera and walk.I need to be conscious of how I move the gimbal, but it's low-effort. My vlogging channel is a completely different beast. There are days when I start filming and end up packing it in after an hour because I'm not feeling it. Then on the days I do make it to the end, I've got this persistent sense that I won't be able to make anything out of the pile of clips, a large percentage of which are multiple takes for multiple "scenes" that I'm sure are all just garbage. But then I fire up the editor. Sometimes it takes a handful of hours, sometimes it takes two or three sessions, but then I manage to pull it off. It's incredibly rewarding. That my viewers like it and leave comments is just icing on the cake. This is a strange path we're on for sure. Especially at our age!
