Just a heads up that wasn’t gymnastics, just cheerleading. As a former gymnast and cheerleader, they just watched cheerleading tiktoks that revolve around stunts and tumbling. Gymnastics is completely different. But a still a good video!

gymnastics does tumbling too doesn't it (i.e., floor)? If you see someone do a series of tumbles how do you know its just cheerleading and not gymnastics? As someone who doesn't do either it looks the same as what I see during gymnastics floor routines

Ahh brings me back to my Cheer days When my flyer blew her knee out at a competition. The music stopped mid routine, everyone was confused then I saw my flyer *SOBBING CRYING!* crawling to the front of the mat. The competition let us go again. We had to rework the routine backstage, everything was thrown off. teammates who did right side motions now did left & I had to learn how to base In *LITERALLY 5min!* *IVE NEVER BASED A DAY IN LIFE!* Ive always been a backspot. I just remember sitting on the floor backstage stressed AF! lol....good times 🥰

Cheerleading in the US is so serious since they really want high scores so they do more difficult things😭 I wish they showed iconic cheer teams like Navarro, senior elite, Trinity Valley, etc. I didn’t know there were cheerleaders in Korea•.•

@@vi3196 They watched a video of the NCA last week.
@LMmccallL573 жыл бұрын
*For those asking about what they cheer for, and if they cheer like American cheerleaders, this may shed a little light* . These two explained in another video where they reacted to a clip from the *NCA Championships* , that they cheer during baseball games, festivals and school gatherings to keep the audience entertained. I don't know about them specifically, but from what little I know from a video that showed some "Action Squad" performances, if there's something like a concert going on, they'll perform during the time the singer or band takes a break. They're on an "Action Squad", and they don't actually perform as American cheerleaders do, (a team not on Action Squad, did some of the moves) but use props like flags and ribbons, and fast paced moves that remind me of old school aerobics. Not intending to be rude with the "aerobics" comment, but it's honestly the only thing that it reminded me of. To watch some Action Squads perform, search for "Action Cheerleading Global Festival". The guy who recorded the video talks pretty much non-stop, and I found him to be rude, but the video is there if you want to watch. To watch a team doing more of the American style, search for "Team Korea Coed Elite Cheerleading Worlds 2019". Hope this helps.

The best way to describe cheerleading in Korea if if you take the sport out of cheerleading . Any athleticism take that out and just mix what you have left with the basic social atmosphere of a fraternity . Weird I know ! Spoke to several people from Korea and this is the best way to describe it .

The concept of cheerleading is different. They don't do much stunting and tumbling in their cheerleading. Like they said in the video, America is more stunt cheerleading whereas they are more action cheer. Basically cheerleading for them is dance and literal cheering.
@anluong91293 жыл бұрын
I looked more into this and their cheer team is more like a spirit squad. They only do dance with no stunts and athleticism isn’t really focused on. Their purpose isn’t really to compete but to hype up and entertain the crowd.
