I wish those were still coming in, I’d buy one in a heartbeat. I’ve always thought they were cool.

Very interesting rifle. It's like a M-16A1 and an AK had a baby.

Huh, what a coincidence. I just gotten my K2 this past weekend lol. Mines is an early pre-ban model tho that has the 1:12 twist barrel. Ironically, my uncle who served in the South Korean Coast Guard and my cousin who was conscripted into the ROK Army share the opinion of the M16 or M4A1 being better. They both liked how light it was with even with the KAC RAS handguard and SOPMOD Stock they really loved the ergonomics and the ability to easily have attachments on it. I gotta say, the way I acquired my K2 was with some help from some good friends who are really into collecting and the K2 is perfect for my Cold War collection. As well as my ethnic pride as a "ROOFTOP KOREAN." lol Jay wasn't getting about having a cool collector of firearms as a friend is like being a heroine addict and your best friend is a drug dealer. LMAO

These are some of my favorite designs. My favorite thing about the AK is how fun it is to disassemble, and my favorite ARs are retro guns. This has the aesthetics of a retro AR, is a real allied military rifle, and is fun to take apart and an interesting design good for displaying a lot of things in gun design

Misha, this is how I found your channel years ago, was your Woo vids. I absolutely love the Woos!!! I had a DR200 in the 90s. Then in 01 I had DR300, and finally I have a K1A1. SAS featured my K1A1 a couple of years ago on one of their vid post. I discovered the K2 series rifles in the late 80s. I always felt it was a much better design then the AR. My K1A1 is a safe queen now. I can't get replacement parts. I did vehicle ops in Afghanistan and used an A2. I learned to appreciate the compactness of folding stocked weapon. Thank you for posting!!! If you can find a model of the RoK T-50 or FA-50 that make a great vid w/the Woo rifles!!!! Thank you for posting!!!

Always neat seeing how these different countries came up with work arounds to avoid liscensing colt or armalite designs by merging the m16 and ar18

Now, Brownells would be hard pressed to make BRN-K2s, but would it be that difficult to make, say, handguards for the K2 for an M203? Brownells sells the same for the regular AR, and nobody makes K2 M203 handguards. I'd love to see it, as the grenade launchers are currently available

I'm really hoping that someone starts cloning these in the US. It wouldn't be hard to make one at all if a company can already make AR15s. I love my DR200 with an Ace tactical folder.

I don’t know much about rifles. Would the 1 in 7 twist impart more spin on he bullet and thus be more accurate than a 1 in 12?

Given how similar tooling/production wise these boys are to AR's, hopefully Brownells comes out with their own reproduction of them.
@misha56704 жыл бұрын
Similar yes, but all the details are different. The entire upper would have to be recreated. With the lower, you could get away with using more AR parts though.
@Sporora4 жыл бұрын
@@misha5670 Right, I didn't mean an AR/Daewoo hybrid, rather that it's an easier transition to go from manufacturing an AR to an K1/K2 rifle, forged aluminum receivers, very little stamped steel, etc. No AR parts, just from a "don't have to buy shit for stamping or worry about die forging steel" sort of deal, ie no compromises like the BRN-180 where it's not really an AR-18/180, or where American manufacturers have struggled with trying to make AK's.
