This video is actually so helpful because I have one and it feels nearly impossible to find any good records to find the date of manufacture. I personally have one like the m91 on the bottom with a folding sight and concave bayonet button. I believe mine was produced around the early 20s, before Mussolini, at the latest due to it not having the stamps of the fascist regime year.

Kalashnikov in interviews could explain basic information on the milling and tolerances of the AK. In other interviews he stated that he alone came up with the AK and that he did know or had ever met Hugo Schmeisser. Yet in other interviews he stated that he did work with and got “input” from Hugo Schmeisser. The Sturmgewehr is more complicated than the AK, but the AK is honestly a dumbed down Sturmgewehr.

Help please anyone. Off subject but I got a Mak 90 apparently. Looks like it was electro penciled in. But underneath the writing are 3 separate parallel tooling marks that scratch the original description or model of the rifle off. I can make out just a few letters, but can’t figure it out. Anyone know what this model might be? Thanks

That is the same thumbhole that was on the Romanian AK at the end of the 90s. As far as thumbholes go, it was much nicer looking and a little better functionally than the typical chunk of wood with a hole.

In the mid 90s I had a Maadi. The wood thumb hole stock on mine was different than yours. It had a hole in it just big enough to get your thumb in. I worked it and cut it and it looked just like a standard AK stock. It had the pharaoh hat on the rear sight block. It took standard AK mags and was a good shooter and very accurate. I also had in the late 80s a Chinese AK in 223. It had the standard AK stock and had high cap mags. it was a great shooter.

He sounds like a whiny person. It is a Polish knock-off of the Walther PPK, but is a small step up in caliber from .380. The safety not only drops the hammer, but it also blocks the firing pin which makes it one of the safest pistols when the safety is on.

Picked up a KR103SF not too long before they went down the tube, I honestly had a decent experience with customer service when I had a failure of the recoil spring, I received a part within a week. I've been happy with the rifle, but sad to see others have had the issues they've had.

I remember seeing the MAADIs with blonde furniture and a thumbhole stock that was not laminated like the one you have. At the time, they were rather cheap and I often passed on them because of the single stagged magazine.

I bought one (I believe a MISR10 double stack as it had the thinner barrel of the regular AK and the front end did not look like my MAK90) new many years ago about 1999-2000. It was NOT a well-built rifle and I had to spend some time working on it to get it to function. The finish was not all that great either. Also it was not very accurate. At 50 yards it would shoot 3-4'' groups. I ended up selling it as both my Norinco MAK 90 and my Romanian SAR1 were both much more accurate and better finished.

@@Takeyerswang $350 in 1996 is equal to $700 in USD$ today. And that's not even half the story. You have to look at wages in Bulgaria in 1996 vs today also. Ontop of that, the Federal AWB (1994-2004) depressed the market for ARs and AKs and the like for obvious reasons.
