I've been telling people for years that there's no such thing as "breakfast" foods. It's just food, eat it when you want. If you want ribs for breakfast, eat them for breakfast. I'm glad I'm not alone in this!

I agree. Same thing with what "time" it is to eat, I eat when I'm hungry, period. I don't eat dinner just because it's 5pm and that's when most people usually eat. I typically eat once a day, usually a lunch or dinner but sometimes twice if it's late and I haven't eaten since morning. The guy named Erik on Life Below Zero said pretty much the same thing when they asked about the constant darkness having an effect on sleeping or eating. He said you forget about what time it is for anything. You might eat lunch at 3am and then go out to cut some firewood, time doesn't matter.

As a nightshift nurse, I totally agree with your statement on not having preconceived notions about what should be eaten at a certain meal. I would usually eat my breakfast at 5 pm. I would want dinner flavored food at 0700 when I got off work. I loved places that sold their whole menu anytime they are open!

Hi Mike and fellow dumpling-heads. I just wanted to say thanks for all the great videos, insights, and food-based entertainment. My wife (Thao) was recently diagnosed with cancer and though her chemo treatments she has struggled with food (feelings of nausea and hunger). My wife and I watch your videos and they seem to help her want to eat more (which is great for her strength). You are doing good work Mike, keep it up. Also, your hot oil is off the hook ^_^

Realizing how I’ve been asleep on the new Korean restaurants popping up. Galbi Jim is hard to find on the Korean menus around Dallas. Glad he highlighted that dish on this video.

I live in Dallas for about 2 years now, moving from NY, and I only went to Carrollton to H-Mart to shop and eat at the food court there, but never ate at any of these restaurants. Now, seeing this I will have to give them all I try. I lived on Korea for 3years and loved korean food..

The midwest sun is definitely no joke! I lived in KS for 16 years and with the humidity, wind and warm temperature in summer it feels like you're inside a convection oven! I've been north of Seattle for 10 years now and it's my happy place! Even if it's hot during the day it cools down enough at night I can open windows to cool the house. At least everywhere has air con in the midwest, unlike the PNW!

Why didn't somebody tell Mikey that a lot of restaurants in the south are closed on Mondays? Also, I'd love to see him ear some soul food while he's down there. Chitlins, collard greens with ham hocks, neck bones. All of it. And yes, everything really is near a freeway.
@hammerdick82

Ive spent time in dallas 20 years ago, though very high at the time, but still dont remember it being so central to freeways. Houston is very similar though. Even houses are mostly near a main thoroughfare

@@hammerdick82 Its because of how big Texas REALLY is. Land is relatively cheap to the point that even mid range houses are built in like half an acre land.
@hammerdick82

@@jong9379 Texas is big yes. But its more to do with lack of zoning restrictions by the city and municipal govts. San antonio, austin, beaumont etc etc arent like houston and dfw.

I highly recommend Seoul Garden in Irving!!! I promise you as a longtime watcher you will not regret it! Some of the platters are immensely huge and you can Grill it tableside or have them Grill it for you. It's really great and they're really good people:-). I'm a regular for the last 15 years and they always give me free stuff and if you do go I'm sure they would appreciate the publicity! It's really good food! Just thought I'd say this since you're in my hometown:-)
