Elisha That's more like after school street food or quick snack food you can get in local stores around each school. As for fanciness I won't call those food fancy. They are of course very tasty but they're just normal everyday food. Just common and everywhere. School lunch is more focused on nutrient balance while those food are only about taste and fun :)

The lunch box is what they used in the olden days for lunch. In the winter they would have those lunch boxes and place them on the furnace during classes and it would be warmed up by lunch time.

baamonster2 If the onion is placed first to help distribute the oil (if barbecue style) then you place the root vegetables to be cook first then meat, noodles. White rice what I understand is used to help reduce the salt content. Sauces you use a dot or two on the meat or lettuce wrap. It to me still taste salty. What other way is there?

I am korean, and i have to tell you most of our dishes including our stable kimchi was first made in China. It's fair to say mostly if not all originated from China. Same can be said about Japanese food. Thank you guys for spreading out the culture of food within Asia.
