I always ate these foods growing up. Abc's would make fun of me for being too chinese for liking these foods but now that we're college aged I see the same abc's eating these foods because all of a sudden its cool now to be in touch with your culture.

Fiona Wong ha! I like how ur sooo Chinese that u even call Americans ‘abc’s’ My parents say that all the time
@_Wai_Wai_4 жыл бұрын
you really can't blame Chinese Americans when they are really young, like pre -teen or Teen. At those age, children just wants to be socially accepted , to have friends. At those ages, maintaining cultural heritage is probably low on their list of priorities. Unless the parents support or expose the children to the culture, they won't even know about it.

As a person who lives in Beijing. I must say that last dish made by beans in TianJin section is not what Chinese people called Douzhi(豆汁), it is indeed Doufunao(豆腐脑). Douzhi(豆汁) is a traditional Beijing drinks which made also by beans but tastes totally different from Doufunao. I hope one day you guys can try that in Beijing(after this damn special time ), trust me, you will see how special the Douzhi is.

As a Chinese residing in the US when I watched the European pastry parts of the Guangzhou and Hong Kong section I was surprised by realizing that there's a lot of breads which I previously classified as American food, cannot generally be found in the US except in Chinatown, and are all Cantonese speciality. Although till now I would still not call them Cantonese food but instead call them creole food, to distinguish them from genuine Cantonese food such _cheung-fan._ Please don't misunderstand me I don't mean they're bad, those creole Cantonese food are actually popular all-over China but people simply don't know they're part of Chinese cuisine. You should probably add Fuzhou-style _guobian_ to your list. You can find pretty good ones in Brooklyn (although not so good in Manhattan Little Fookchow). Adding some seafood into it, really nice breakfast. This is something that you probably cannot find anywhere in China or US except in Fuzhou and New York. So definitely worth a try. By the way, please don't call _doufu nao_ "douzhi". Douzhi is something _holy_ different! It is a _God_ in the most oldschool Beijing breakfast which most Chinese (include most modern Beijingers that are not "authentic" enough) can never accept, so I really don't recommend anyone to try it at the first time, espcially don't ask for _douzhi_ when you want _doufu nao_ - the seller would be super-surprised hearing that (and maybe confirm "are you sure").

I love that you guys have been bringing attention to China's regional foods. Something I've noticed in some of your videos is that the restaurants you guys go to are not always mentioned, links aren't consistently provided or when you guys do provide links, they're not in the order in which you guys showcase them. Perfect example would be the Wuhan segment is within the 18 minute mark but it's second on your link list. I hope you guys can fix this so that we can also experience the foods that are featured. Much respect!

Some of the baked goods at 5 minutes in are from Little Swan due to where they are at. Some of it is also from the bakery across from Garage Restaurant (not Momo, which is next to it). The dim sum is from the restaurant right next to where they are sitting in the Big 5 plaza, Top Island. At 10 min, the soups are from Delicious Food Corner. At 16 min, they told you its from Garage Kitchen, even after they moved to the park. I do not know where the stuff from 18:50 is at though.

They are introducing exclusively Chinese breakfasts. Why do you want it to change to "Asian"?
@teasea5464 жыл бұрын
@@michaelzz9198 Probably butthurt bc Taiwan was included in it. The problem is, "Chinese" in this context is a culture term like "Slavic", and the Taiwanese food in this video are undoubtedly Chinese Taiwanese and not aboriginal Taiwanese. Therefore I don't see any problem with the video title.
