I went all over the world when I was in the Navy, and South Korea is still my absolute favorite place for food to this day. You just cannot beat Korean street food and Korean BBQ.

Wow! This looks like so much fun! I would EASILY rather spend $150 on all of this food/evening instead of sitting in a restaurant being locked into the one meal you chose! What a great time!

Korean street food is amazing, I loved getting egg sandwiches there. Notice how clean the streets around the carts are. When I saw the sugar on the ground I immediately wanted Sam to pick it up.

That's how you know it's early evening. By three AM there will be flyers for noraebangs and brothels littered all over the place as well as a few "kimchi flowers". Then at 4 AM the secret army of ajima will come through with their brooms and spruce the whole thing back up again.

Jap chae…the bulgogi and glass noodle dish. It’s a fave and plenty recipes are online. (Wouldn’t mind a Sam version.) As for the sign for chicken skewers…we differentiate between marinated and unmarinated meats quite a bit. Unfortunately, translation generators still don’t have the finesse of native speakers. We use the word “saeng” to mean simple/fresh/undressed/unmarinated/raw…take ur pick.

Great video! Looking forward to more Korean videos! As to "raw" chicken, I think they wanted to say fresh chicken, not frozen. Pumpkin sweet potato (호박고구마) is just a Korean terminology to describe a particluar kind of sweet potato, that has a texture akin to pumpkin when cooked. Similarly, there's also a chestnut sweet potato (밤고구마), again there's no chestnut in it, but just another type of sweet potato in Korea. There's also "water sweet potato" (물고구마) as well, which, as you can guess, is juicier than the chestnut or pumpkin varieties.
