Props should also be given to the "straight men" in the films. Comedy is very difficult, especially such physical comedy as Rowan Atkinson specializes in. That being said, his comedy is often sold by the straight man, the one who is not laughing. It can be tough to keep a straight face when the comedian is going through his act, but the straight man often makes the scene funnier.
@supr334 жыл бұрын
Definitely- like in Johnny English, the straight man Bough was played by Ben Miller and he was amazing at keeping a poker face through everything Rowan Atkinson was doing
@anonygent4 жыл бұрын
Mary Tyler Moore (I think) said about the old vaudeville days that two person comedy acts would always split the take 60/40, 60% for the straight man, 40% for the comedian, because everyone wanted to be the comedian while being the straight man was never popular and a lot harder.
