Similar, yet different enough to represent totally opposite types of sounds: 소복소복, sobok sobok, the sound of smth very _light_ falling and piling 터벅터벅, teobeok teobeok, the sound of someone plodding, walking in slow and heavy steps Both have an adequate feel to it. One sounds a bit lighter, whereas the other is such that one could assume it has to do with something heavy. Besides for creating hand gestures, people in South Korea clearly have a fantastic flair for coining creative mimetic words. 터벅 터벅 is from Korean Unnie's book on best folk tales of Korea. Writing is just one of many things Korean Unnie has a gift for. ^ ^

To those who don't know korean. Sobok sobok means that coverd fully by snow and something white color (rice or cotton etc). but it has to be feel warm and looks soft. snowy day in winter, Someday is very cold and windy so, nobody doesn't want to go out. but someday, it totally different. lots of snow are falling but no wind and it just looks like outside would be warm and feels so good. at that time, definitely we can say " snow is piled up sobok sobok"

소복소복,사뿐사뿐,야금야금,살금살금,소근소근, 조근조근,살랑살랑 ... We use these words normally. There are a lots of impressions in Korean. i think... if someone study Korean very hard... She / he can talk with Korean naturally after one year. Coz Korean is also easy to learn language. Its just my opinion haha
@Rosie-ii7jy4 жыл бұрын
I think every language has these, like respective use uses of words for adults or official work, different sounds, meaning change when used in different places (respectively). It’s just that English is a language that is built to be easy for everyone to speak. That’s why it doesn’t has it. As English is not my native language I know the difference. We should be great full of the culture and language we were born to because not a lot of people know that and it makes you unique. Every language is cool in it’s on way. And fun fact: you can only express your true feelings through your native language, don’t get me wrong but if you course at your friend who speaks two in there native language they’ll be shook then if you course at them in English. Like this if you say I love you in there native language they’ll feel like way better.

Hangul is a very emotional and fun language, but it is very sad that you can't translate it all into English. There are many emotional and interesting lines in Korean music and dramas, but it is sad to be a boring language. So I recommend you to learn Hangul if you have time. If you learn Hangul and watch a drama, you will see more emotional and interesting words.
