Harvey responded to "Well done" by the translator with, "You helped me, man. Thank you." He's got such a good attitude. I am impressed by how well he has handled this entire experience up to this point.

he definitely deserves a lot for what he did. he translated so effortlessly, it had me wonder if he's lived abroad. and doing that while doing something that is physically and mentally so demanding. he definitely deserves to be treated on this channel. someone also suggested to invite him to england (under the replies of a comment) and i think if that's possible and he wants to, it would be really nice to see. also would switch this channel up a little. this channel is all about introducing korean culture to the word but why not do it the other way around, too? could also invite the boys during one of their breaks. that would be something new and not a repetition, which Josh mentioned they don't like doing. including the other guy, that was included in their group.

i think people might not notice it, but the guy who is translating is doing twice the work compared to everyone else. Your brain becomes numb after this much of vigorous training, but he still kept it all together and translated everything. As an interpreter myself, i know how much it takes a toll on your brain to continuously translate, and he did it in these conditions was amazing. Hats off to everyone.

you know, i legitimately assumed that the translator would be just like standing next to them shouting out the commands in English for them. imagine my shock when i realised it was Hong, a fellow recruit, having to go through the process with them (and getting punished together with them!) that had been saddled with the task of translation. hope the KE team compensated him for his efforts (like a nice meal at the very least).

He will realize a few years later when he sees it again.

I am seriously appreciating Harvey’s attitude. Don’t get me wrong, everybody is doing amazing enduring the mental and physical toll; every one has the right to feel distressed, annoyed, and resistant to all of this cause it’s genuinely challenging. I don't usually comment but the boy who was helping the English boys trabslate really touched me. Coming from an immigrant family, I am so used to translating things for my family and still inevitably get mad and annoyed. (Maybe I'm just impatient, felt like you're always doing a double job) But he remained very calm the entire time and gave encouragement to the boys. During the song singing session, maybe it's just the mic or what. I felt like he was giving it his all because his teammates weren't able to sing the song and he's trying to use his voice to make up for it.

i noticed it too.. when they had to sing Anchor, it felt like he sang twice as loud to make up for the rest of his squad since the British guys don’t know the song. I felt really touched by him. Arman? Armani? this guy should be trained by a legit DI from 5-8 years ago (this DI is like 1 out 10 of scariness in Korean armed forces) the time before a previous extreme liberal president changed Korean army's atmosphere as 'Army academy', 'Army pre school' instead of a legit army training camp. Then I can guarantee that he won't laugh at all whole time. We are facing freaking N.Korea on our border line, and we shouldn't make them just chill during the service. We need that scariness, and fear in the armed forces definitely. Am I conservative? No, I'm right in the middle (moderate), and I believe in yin and yang (everything should be balanced in right times). But the fear, discipline, and seniority are required in the armed forces imo.

keeping a straight face for this and similar training is a real challenge for those without experience. suddenly remembered having to do a lot of lip biting in the early years of training to hide expressions so the whole lot of us wouldn't get group punishments and being thankful that lip biting wasn't something they could penalise us for. still watching so hoping that the guys will be able to persevere through the next few days

I’m an American Sailor currently stationed in Japan. Boot camp is hard enough in your native language, I can’t imagine how difficult it would be to have to follow directions in a language you don’t understand. Watching this is like reliving my own first days of boot camp, it’s a great series so far. Don’t judge the boys too harshly, we were all 18 once and the “sailorization” takes more than a few days

I think the boys have been great. They’re still young. Maybe if they would have been really prepared and known what they were really getting into before they were brought to Korea they would have been able to deal with the situation in a different manner. It’s as if you are put to take a very important and serious exam, but you were never prepared for it.

I really agree, I don't think the boys really processed just how seriously they were going into it, and that they weren't just going to wade in the shallows with this one. Nati always stood out to me from the beginning. He seemed much more mature and articulate compared to his cohorts. Massive respect to all of the young Korean men who go through this. What's being shown here probably isn't even a fraction of what they actually go through in the military. And to do it for 21 months? Absolute insanity. Hats off to you lads.

It used to be, but now it's changed to 18 months in the military The military service period was shortened by three months, the same for each military. The army and navy were reduced from 21 months to 18 months, the navy from 23 months to 20 months, and the air force from 24 months to 21 months.

@@333-p7m1l It's actually 18-21 months minimum depending on the branch of the military they get assigned to.

He was also putting out the most. You can see @ 22:46 he's even tippy toeing which let off some weight for Jayden. I felt Jayden was putting out the least out of everyone in this log training part you could kind of tell in his facial expression.
