That's because in Korean culture men are in touch with their feminine side and it's not looked down upon however for the lgbtq community there's no protection from discrimination for them even though there is a law, illegal to join the military, only married couples can adopt but lgbtq marriage is not recognized, and they can be banned from South Korea for donating blood. I'm not for or against these rights but just to give you a bit of more insight

Their over all theme is exploring life stages through experiences, art, hard work and psychology while trying to remain positive even when throwing out a dis track. Lots of idols are cute, dance and sing pretty( and I’m a fan of quite a few) but BTS is on a whole other level.

South koreans are so unaware of how amazing BTS is. Like one take vids and performances have been their thing. 😅 They have their mics on every live performance so you witness their glitches (especially when they're overworked) but you also witness how they professionally finish their performances no matter what. They hype out their crowd as if they're part of the performance. They speak their minds out. They try to improve on their skillset everyday. Like everyone now has written and co-produce a bunch of songs. And if you're not a fan of the leadtracks in their albums (regardless what era), their Btracks are like hidden jems. They fuse a lot of Western and korean elements to their sound and writing or even in their MVs and live perfs in such a way that is modern and current. Which for I-armys like us, helps us get curious with s.Korean culture even more. And they never do things just for the sake of pleasing you. They don't do things by the usual mechanics of what is expected fr Kpop or Pop industries (if they did, they wouldve released a full english album and featured a major artist, notice that regardless who they're featuring, you know that it's just a feat.and they're not dominated by that western artist) They do things because they think it can move you and help you or make you listen. They work hard because they're grateful for all the love they've been receiving. They're just being BTS. Goofy and all over the place. People should check their btracks. Like seriously. That's all. @UC6XrE0lzeOMK-nAj8bGEP4A i've been a Kpop fan since 2005 (more than a decade) and the big 3 did have all focus esp. in the 2nd gen. A lot of their artists where commercially exposed and back then there wasn't even online streaming and physical albums where like gems to order if not bought S.korea. This is nothing new to me. The 3rd gen do a lot of lipsync and does invest more on the MV. One thing I liked about BTS that caught my eye, was the storylines, they retained the live performances, very hungry on stage as if their life depends on it despite them being successful. One of the things I liked about them is that their agency didnt follow the usual kpop mechanics. They couldn't since they couldn't afford it back then. It's very innovative. Very current to the times. In which, it has influeced somewhat of the other agencies to loosen up on their strict hold over their idols. The idols that were able to write and contribute in the song production during the 2nd gen era weren't rookies. My korean friends kept telling me that it was a lack of exposure (plus most of them don't listen to kpop. They listen to international music more 😅). They've only heard about BTS when they started getting attention globally back in 2018 (that was their turning pt)

오히려 젊은 20대층은 단순 아이돌로만 보는 경향이 많더라고요. 탄이들이 전연령 층에 인기있는 이유는 그들이 전하는 메시지에 있는데 오히려 삶을 더 산 중장년층 팬분들은 그런 메시지와 노력 불합리속에서도 정도를 걸으려 애쓰는 탄이들 보며 팬이 되신 분들도 많거든요! 전 40대 아미입니다. 그들의 평소 기자회견 팬들과의 소통에서 말하는 것들과 음악속에서 담는 메시지를 들으면 나이 어린 사람들이지만 배울게 많고 나를 다시 돌아보게 만드는 아티스트네요! 그런점은 해외 팬들이 더 많이 느끼는것 같아요. 탄이들 수록곡들이 더 취향과 좋은 곡들이 많으니 들어보시길 바래요... 언젠가 어느시점에서는 힘이되어 줄거라 믿어요! 그리고 그들이 써내려가는 역사는 그리쉽게 얻고있는게 아니랍니다. 한국에서는 아이돌 이라는 선입견과 중소기획사의 한계속에서 팬들과 걸어왔고 지금은 비영어권음악이라는 견제와 인종차별에 팬들과 이겨나가고 있는 중이랍니다. 흔히들 쓰는 편법없이 유일하게 빌보드 앨범1위를 이뤄내고 미국 라디오 방송국의 견제속에서 핫백 4위를 이루어내어 오히려 미국에서 놀라고 있죠. 이런 부당함에 정면으로 부딪혀 이루어나가는 이들이라 가끔은 존경심도 생깁니다. 완벽하지 않지만 이 복잡하고 어지러운 세상에서 자신을 잃지않고 중심을잡고 걸어가려는 탄이들에게 늘 박수를 보네요. 장황하게 글을 썼는데 잘 모르시니 그냥 알려주고 싶은 마음에 길어 졌네요. 잘보고 갑니다.

케이팝이나 아이돌음악이라는 타이틀을 달기만 하면 10대소녀들, 어린학생들의 전유물이 된다는 인식은 대체 언제쯤 없어질까요.. 밑에 외국인 댓글들만 봐도 왜 한국은 유난히 케이팝에 대해 편협한 인식을 갖는지에 대해 이해할 수 없다는 의견이 수두룩합니다... 방탄 뿐만이 아니라 많은 케이팝 그룹들은 다양한 예술적가치와 독창성을 지니고 있다고 생각해요. 실제로 이를 향유하는 방식과 그 사람들의 연령, 성별도 아주 다양합니다. 관심이 없거나 모르는건 개개인의 취향일 수 있지만 우리가 우리 스스로의 문화를 울타리 안에 넣어놓고 이야기할 필요는 없다고 생각합니다. 그리고 조금 다른 이야기지만 방탄소년단에 대해 잘 알고말고를 떠나서 공개적인 공간에 올라오는 영상에서 아티스트를 가리키며 '쟤네 쟤네' 하는게 별로 좋아보이진 않네요...:) 영상은 잘 보고갑니다, 보통 팬분들이 하는 리액션 영상만 자주 보였는데 팬 아닌 한국분들이 하는 리액션영상도 새로웠습니다!

Jan Park 원래 방탄소년단은 10~20대 팬이 많고 현재 30대 이상이신 분들의 유입이 늘어났다고 하더라도 그만큼 10~20대의 유입도 늘어났고 원래 10~20대 팬이 많은건 사실입니다. 방탄소년단이 팬덤이 크니 그만큼 30대이상 이신 팬들이 많더라도 다른 아이돌은 30대이상이신 팬분들이 많지 않아요. 그리고 원래 아이돌은 10~20대 팬이 많았고 이번 방탄소년단이 거의 처음으로 30대이상의 팬들의 유입이 많은 그룹이라고 할 수 있죠. 그렇다보니 아이돌 음악은 10대 소녀들, 어린 학생들의 전유물이라는 인식이 있는 것 같아요. 방탄 뿐만 아니라 다른 케이팝 그룹들도 예술적 가치와 독창성을 가지고 있지만 대중들은 잘 모르다보니 그런거죠. 이런 인식은 방탄소년단 이후에도 30대이상의 팬들이 많은 아이돌 그룹이 많아져야 없어질 수 있을 것 같네요.

나봄 마지막문단에 저도 아주 동의하고 그 때문에 답답한 마음에 남긴 댓글입니다. 영상에 충분히 젊으신 분들이 나와서 나는 나이가 많아서~ 하는 말씀들으니 안타깝기도 하구요. 이 영상 뿐 아니라 유난히 한국유튜버들의 컨텐츠에서는 본인들의 나이를 어떤 한 기준으로써 규정지으며 나는 나이가 많아서 이런거 잘 모르는데... 어린친구들은 좋아할만 하네요, '소녀팬들'이 정말 많네요 등등의 발언을 하는게 참 안타깝고 아쉽기도 하구요. 말씀해주신 내용을 제가 정말 몰라서 사람들 대체 왜그러냐 하는식의 댓글을 달았다기 보단 나봄님이 언급한 마지막 문단에 대한 이야기를 하소연 하듯 풀어냈다고 생각하시면 될 듯 합니다. 적어도 유튜브로 무언가를 생산해내거나 소비하는 정도의 사람들은 조금 더 열린 눈으로 현시대를 바라봤음 해서요.

Jan Park 제가 어려서 그런건진 잘 모르겠지만 저는 영상을 보면서 그런 부분은 느끼지 못하였어요. 그래서 영상에 나오시는 분들도 만들면서 그부분에 대해 크게 문제점을 느끼지 못하신 것 같네요. 그래도 Jan Park님 말처럼 유튜브는 열린 커뮤니티이다보니 그런 부분은 조심할 필요가 있을 것 같아요!

Korean should be proud of the 7 Bangtan boys. The way I understand they don’t have much exposure in Korea like news papers( politics controlled by 3 big companies)or T.V.Their songs are mostly in Korean, but the world love them for who they are not the language they speak. They are humble,honest & down to earth group. I myself(67 yers old) don’t know much about K-pop till I was introduced to bts(life goes on) & plan on visiting Korea to see the humble beginning where our boys came from. Love Korean food now

댓글 쭉읽다보니까 그런생각도 드네요. 저도 저분들과 비슷한 나이대인것 같은데 10대때부터 덕질을 했었지만... 최근에는 방탄이 이제 더 생길 팬이 있을까?싶었거든요. 아이돌을 좋아하는 사람들 수는 한정적이니까... 근데 이렇게 젊은 층에서 아이돌에 관심없는 사람들도 많아서 오히려 생길수도 있겠다 싶은 생각이 들었어요. 방탄팬들 보면 살면서 아이돌에 관심없는데 팬된 분들이 워낙 많아서 아예 팬덤문화 바깥에 있던 사람을 끌어들일 수 있는 몇안되는 가수겠다 싶은 생각이 듬. 다른아이돌에 비해 입지랑 명성이 유리하니까.

You guys should react to the official ON music video. You will enjoy it, the music video and lyrics match perfectly together. It is their fourth number one on the billboard 200 chart 4 consecutive years. They practice till 4 a.m. the next morning. If you look at the clock you'll see the time. 하...방뽕 차오르고 갑니다.. 저는 아미라서 항상 본업 개잘하는 방탄만 보다보니 이렇게까지 방탄의 영향력을 크게 실감하지 못했는데(비유가 될까 모르겠지만 국민 초미녀 김태희님 남동생분도 김태희가 그렇게 예쁜지 모르겠다~ 이렇게 말해서 화제가 됐었잖아요. 약간 그런 느낌.?) 이 영상으로 지금 방부심 차올라서... 암튼 방탄 존나 미친 그룹인 거는 확실해요.. 노래,퍼포먼스는 물론이고 그냥 막연히 상업적으로 음악을 대하지 않고 진정성, 조심스러울 수 있는 사회적인 메세지나 무거운 부분까지 소신있게 음악으로 풀어내는데 아이돌이라는 타이틀로 한국사람들이 편견을 가지고 있기도 하면서 잘 알아주지 못하기도 해요.. 진짜 아티스트 거든요... 뱁새, 이상하지 않은가 등등 그리고 예를 들어 타이틀 ‘쩔어’ 같은 “그냥 댄스곡아냐?” 라고 할 수 있는 노래들도 가사를 보면 청춘을 바쳐 노력하고 올라와서 성공을 거머쥔 방탄 자신들의 얘기를 하는 노래이고, 중간의 랩에서는 꼰대문화같은 사회적인 문제도 꼬집기도하고. 아무튼 방탄은 진짜 다른 것 같아요... 한 번 빠지면 노래,파포먼스,외모,멤버들의 성격,7명의 가족같은 우애 등등 못빠져나오는 요소가 정말 많지만 가장 큰 건 그들이 노래,음악을 대하는 태도가 아닐까 싶어요... 방탄이 왜 이렇게 인기가 많은지 의구심이들고 모르겠는 분들은 꼭 그들의 노래의 가사들을, 매 앨범마다 전하고자 하는 메세지들을 봐보시길.

BTS has broken so many records, close to 30 I think. From Billboard to KZbin. they are also in the Guinness book of world records several times. Try Googling it and up till Dec 2019 it is unreal what they have done.

I don't know if anyone here in the comments mentioned this, but a big portion of the backup dancers are an actual marching band called The Blue Devils. Marching bands also have to be insanely in sync or they'll lose points in competitions (I know this because I've had friends in nearly every section of my high school marching band). Considering they're not only part of the DCI, but part of the World Class division and even won their division in 2019, it's no wonder that they're all insanely talented and worked hard enough to even get to collab with BTS.
