Maybe ...but if he sang it in Korean, that's different. I can sing about sex in any language I'm giving lyrics to sing, but it's totally different when it's the secret "dirty" words you learned as a child in your native language. I can't see Jungkook actually singing that line about "fucking you right" in Korean. Not making love, not sliding bodies or whatever euphemism...FUCKING! 😀

Its so interesting how they said his parts were sexual in too in your face. Had me wondering about the translation. Even Latto's parts were more inuendo than direct in my opinion. Jungkook's part has lots of innuendos. If you translate them and explain them anyone can understand. Just looking at English lyrics most can miss them. I've seen so many people who understand English didn't get some innuendos in his part. Like "break me off" part is a sex term. Not many people got it. It's written by American writers and I'm sure they wanted it that way.

@@suzienightingill6561 Exactly. Like in almost every line throughout the whole song there are many sexual innuendos. And I'm not talking about the explicit version. It's weird when some fans say other version changed the meaning when it's always been there. (Like kissing the waist is very specific. That's the beginning of the song and that tells you exactly what it is. Like why waist? Because it's going south. Just picture that scene in the head and that it. I can't believe lot of people didn't get it.) I'm surprised majority of English speakers failed to pick up all the meanings. I've seen maybe like 2 people who got all of the hints. I've watched many reactions but they never picked up all them innuendos. It's written by American writers so they wrote it that way. It's just that one word made it more bold. But the song is already that way. Anyone can take it in a romantic way if they want of course. Since American writers wrote it I'm sure they knew what they were doing with it.

@@emmadow4880 I will say, I think the innuendos in her part of the song are a lot easier to understand than a lot of the ones in his part - especially if you are not a native speaker (possibly with rather limited vocabulary). So I can actually understand why they might perceive hers as more explicit - and one can't forget that sex related things are not being as openly discussed in Korea, so even if you translate the innuendos, there is a big fat chance that a lot of them are just going to fly over their heads. I also think that her outfit and some of her gestures played into this too.

This song was actually written 2 years ago by Jon Bellion, Cirkut, Thomas Thanes and Latto. Jon Bellion said the hook (Monday, Tues....) was "hitty", so he worked on the song in the studio. He said that he didn't write it with JungKook or anyone else in mind specifically. As Bellion didn't know that JK would record 1)a solo album and 2) in English. Bellion was blown away at the song's success. Because songwriters will tell you that they don't know what will become a hit or not. It all depends on the artist, production and timing of the music scene. So I don't know if JK would've written an explicit version himself. But he feels fine with it as he selected to record the song. And the man is 26 years old. So his songs will reflect that.

The cultural differences are always very interesting and their reactions are funny. But at some point acting cute gets old, why are ppl so shocked a grown can says something explicit. I wonder what they say to their significant others? 🤣

This is not very explicit in America’s standards. This is actually quite tame compared. I am just shocked at how conservative it still is in Korea around certain topics and how shocking it is to them.

I think the korean interpretation might have dragged it to be waaaay more sexual than it was because yeah the chorus and latto's parts are sexual but there's a lot of messages of love and devotion as well which I think were misconstrued

after Sugas haegeum MV where he talks about allowing or breaking bans on things like smoking and sexual talk in kpop and right after that, JK release this song breaking the wall down completely. i mean if anyone can do it it´s BTS, they are use to breaking the walls and this song is trending all over the world. so i guess we will se more changes in kpop going forward. just like how every group seems to copy what BTS does when it comes to performance and content just everything. also the selfwritten bands.
