His last comment is so interesting. The burden of always being seen as the protector because of gender, age, or height and never feeling there is anyone who 'has your back'. We should all be each other's protector regardless.

At 4:00 the black man recieved the donated heart of the man on the bike's daughter. He rode all the way there so he could hear her heartbeat. It's a common thing in America. There was one instance where a young man walked an older woman down the aisle. He had her sons' heart transplanted when he was a child. So he walked the sons' heart down the aisle when the dad and mom got married. He visited the family often and showed up for major events. During the reception she sat in a chair next to him for a while with her head on his chest for the mother/son dance.

When I lived in Seoul, people were always super kind, but one time, I fell down the stairs in the subway (like seriously...I quit wearing high heels after that mess), and NOBODY stopped to even check if I was alive lol. They all just walked around me as I slowly straightened myself out. They were probably scared to help a foreigner because of not speaking the same language, but it always reminds me....language doesn't matter. In that moment, if even one person offered their hand to help, I would have greatly appreciated it. Language barriers and fear mean nothing to a person who needs help.

Hyeni’s story about how she helped the grandma while everyone was just watching really shows how society unfortunately is It’s called the bystander effect, the term was originated from how 38 people just passively watched a murder and didn’t call the police. The thought “someone else will help anyways” is just cold Also, Hyeni seems like an angel
@IzzyKawaiichi

Ehh, it's not necessarily that. In Korea, it's considered impolite to draw attention when someone embarrasses themselves (like falling on their face), so people will pretend not to notice in order to minimize the embarrassment. Of course, if someone really needs help, people will usually step in, but it's mostly just if they're injured. A friend of mine dropped her stuff all over some stairs with many people around, and no one said anything. In the West we're less concerned with holding up appearances, but the East has a greater focus on saving face.
@christyk3447

@@IzzyKawaiichi Ahh I didn’t consider that but I just imagine if it were a grandma sliding on the surface, she would definitely need help. But you do make a point though, saving face is a huge thing in Asia. I should know that seeing my mom hahahha

The bystander effect had so many flaws in it (considering most of the people couldn't call the police bc they were minorities being discriminated against by said police at the time) so I don't like using it as an argument, but it does happen in other situations, such as bullying and stuff.

Not that the man in front of the sprinkler wasn't being kind, but those girls were definitely color guard, and he was probably a band director or coach. So it wasn't just about making sure the students didn't get wet, but also making sure their uniforms and equipment weren't ruined by the water and cost the band hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

I fall sometimes because of a slight birth defect of my foot which makes my ankle turn if I’m not paying attention. I’m pretty good at landing without hurting anything, but it’s always a bit of a shock and it takes a few seconds to 1. get my bearings of what just happened 2. assess pain in my limbs to see if I obviously sprained or broke anything. Soo it’s nice to get help up, but at 60+, give us a few seconds, we probably aren’t going to spring back up like Simone Biles. It’s nice if you ask questions first “Are you all right? Would you like some help up?” (then please try to be patient while we check for wardrobe malfunctions and sprains) Thank you if you’ve ever helped a stranger or a mean relative. You’ll understand why people get mean and weird when your pain starts. You might be someone who can hold it together and keep smiling as you age , but you’ll understand.

I was raised to always help people I see in need, rather it be helping an older person load their car with groceries, helping to reach something on a shelf, holding a door open for anyone behind me, etc...just small acts of kindness go a long way, and it just infuriates me when people in the service industry act surprised and grateful by me simply asking how their day was or how they're doing and wishing them a good day because they're not used to people being kind and polite to them anymore

Sadly most of the times people look the other way instead trying to help or be nice. Best example is in a subway/bus if there is an person who needs to sit almost nobody cares. I myself was treated like that when I was pregnant the first time. The subway was extremely full and the people checked me out from head to toe but nobody wanted to be nice. After that I would always have my motherbook (sry ,don't know if it's the correct translation, English is not my native tongue 🤷😅 ) in my hand and show it to almost everyone just so I can sit on a seat that is officially for pregnant ,elderly etc.

@@xXGestoerTXxno worries, I like motherbook, it's easier than saying "What to Expect When You're Expecting" (most well known pregnancy book in the the US)! @@crazycatchick4111 lol ^^ Yes it's really sad because it is not just the younger one but also people in their thirties and above. My Grandma always told me to help if I saw someone who needs it and now I'm almost thirty & I'm still the same. The Elderly in our district known me as a little kid as a nice kid who always helps and then those elderly would go to my grandma and praise me all the time. Ofc it made me really proud but also sad because something like this should be normal but they praised me so much that it seems this was almost special for them. That was 20 years ago.... Don't wanna think how it will be in another 20 years. My kids luckily grow up the same way I did because I want them to be proud and nice adults. There is soooooo many bad things in this world and we need less of them.

@@xXGestoerTXx couldn't agree more, a kinder more understanding and compassionate 🌍🌎🌏 would be ideal, but sadly most people are apparently only out for themselves...so long as we keep passing down our teachings of humility and kindness, then hopefully small (and big!) acts of service won't go extinct entirely
@xXGestoerTXx
@xXGestoerTXx Жыл бұрын
@@crazycatchick4111 I hope so too. We should always set an example of how someone should be in certain situations. Be nice and help if someone needs it (ofc only in a way you can). It's not that hard. We can't always help in the way we might want to but even if one really can't help than at least be nice. Bad words alone can destroy a life. Love Yourself & others is the best way to live (in my opinion at least)💜

@@mariamcneil1842 I think all of the East Asian countries are like that. That's not a negative. They're content and busy with working within their own societies, so worrying about unnecessary information they won't need right then isn't important. Knowing a kindness clip is in the Middle East and not America doesn't impact them enjoying it for a reaction video. If a time comes that it would, they'd learn. tbh I advocate for specializing education like this. With the internet, information is free to curious minds. School education needs to contain pertinent things for the current stage of the child's life, and what's incoming: local history, finances, science relevant to that country's STEM. If they pursue archaeology in college, then they can learn broader history, or research it on their own. Our capacity for bullying them for not knowing history is the same >.>

My grandma fell, I heard a thud around the house. I was alone with her and I can't even lift an elderly person. But even if i can, i have to pick them up in a certain way because it will cause problems if improperly picking them up. I gave her some pillows so she can be comfortable as 911 was already called. (By me), called Momma and Auntie. They came before the freaking ambulance and paramedics and cops (apparently all priority of special people as the elderly included) to give escort. She was 93. 96 years was her best life. She lived such a wonderful life that we the younger and mid generation will never understand what it's like to live that long. My family, especially momma, miss you Grandma ❤️😢

I live on a main road where cars are driving by 24/7. My grandad, despite being severely ill to the point of needing to be wheelchair bound and cared for by the whole family at all hours, didn't stop it from being the same caring person. We had a neighbour across the street who we'd never met or spoken to and didn't know who they were, but they had a work van and had left both of the van's back doors wide open and gone to bed. My grandad noticed it at about 11 at night. He kept himself awake all night, diligently watching that van out of the window in the dark without taking any break to make sure nobody passing by tried to steal something from it. At 6 in the morning I caught him sitting there and asked what he was doing, and he pointed out the van. I went across the road and knocked on the door, the guy living there was visibly confused, I told him his van doors were open and he came out looking at the back of the van in disbelief and began checking everything. Let him know that my grandad had watched over it for him the whole night and that he didn't see anything being stolen. I went back home and my grandad was able to go back to resting. Later that same day in the afternoon we had a knock on the door, same neighbour. He came over with a bottle of wine and chocolates to thank my grandad in person (I told him my grandad was disabled else he would have knocked on the door himself). They spoke for a little bit and thankfully nothing was stolen. To my memory they had a nice looking motorbike and a lot of what looked to be expensive work gear in that van. My grandad was always the person to do what he thought should be done in any situation, and not even the physical restraint of his disabled body or the drug cocktails he was on or the constant crippling pain he was in could convince him to roll over and ignore things. If he was there to witness or hear about it, then he was also there and willing to do something to remedy it. I think instead of asking for more people like this, we should all be like this and stop finding any excuse to offer to justify ourselves ignoring people in need of help.

@BigGrabowski

Kindness is not foreign to them, as the viewers clearly were like, "I wish more people were like this HERE". East Asia has a culture of not overtly reacting to things unless you are trying to show support to a superior. I don't know how it is in Korea exactly, but in Japan, it's considered rude for anyone except the most senior of society to express anger or tears openly. These people are likely Zillennials, which in Korean media, I've noticed, are much more open to kind acts than previous generations. East Asian cultures almost all practice a "culture of shame", where if someone in the community majorly effs up in public, they are remembered for it the rest of their lives, and only a severely debasing show of remorse can slightly fix it. Say, if someone's dad lost his job due to messing up some numbers, his kids will be characterized as the children of a "dishonest" or "lazy" man. The kids would do everything they can to keep their heads low and not attract attention to themselves, while quietly supporting their father at home. The most anyone can do to support someone in a gaffe is not laugh at them, and to quietly help, unfortunately.
@AteezHoney

@@BigGrabowski that's sad. I couldn't imagine being Asian tbh. The social pressure seems too much at times. I wouldn't make it lol my culture is completely opposite.
