Netflix is definitely exposing us to other culture through dramas ect. I like it, growing up here in the USA I remember watching many Asian dramas with my dad and to tell you the truth we didn’t know if it was Korean or Chinese...( when you’re not expose to a culture/ different nationalities, this tend to happen. Like most people from other continents think all Latinos are Mexicans, all Americans are white, well unfortunately for us all Asians are Chinese) im glad that with the internet now we have more exposure to other cultures/ countries and doing so can learn and not come of as been rude or stupid.

American dramas have the main leads kiss like in the second episode, but in Kdramas they build up to the little moments like holding hands. It takes like half the season for the leads to hold hands and it makes you feel so happy that it finally happened. So that’s why I find Kdramas more intriguing and more of a romance drama.

just to add to this: speaking after tasting garlic both in Korea and Europe and Turkey, the Garlic in Korea is very bland tasting so it makes sense to add a lot. On the other hand, if it's grown well, just a few tiny little cloves will kill an entire pot of food if you aren't measured enough. ^_^

I have been watching Kdramas since I was 9 and that was 10 yrs ago, and honestly it helped me appreciate other people and their cultures. Being African, there is a stigma against Asia in general and a lot of ignorance towards it, and going into kdramas which led me to kpop courtesy of my mom ( she introduced them to me cause she looooveeess Asian dramas and is a huge EXO fan) I learnt that it was wrong. I apologise as I did do quite a few ignorant things as a child, and I have come to love the Korean culture and other cultures in general. Each culture has it's own beautiful uniqueness whether we understand it or not, and we should learn to appreciate that. Love you guys by the way💕

Hi. I love this channel and you always amuse me with your funny comments. Yes, Kdramas are brilliant. I am 65yr old grandma from New Zealand and I have canceled television in my house. I have spent the last four years binge watching KDramas and Chinese dramas. I love the politeness, the healthy story lines. They are not full of excess sex scenes, rude swearing, excessive blood scenes, insane and boring car chases, and over the top violence that many American or other English speaking countries have in their programs. I thank you Korea for the magnificent quality of your dramas especially the beautiful scenery and costumes in your historical dramas. Kind regards from New Zealand.

Especially the ones about not remembering foreigner’s names- cause obviously they sound so foreign to me and Korean names have like 3 parts to them and a lot of them seem really similar because of the family name. And then for Thai names they’re all super long or confusing both first and last name so that’s probably why everyone in Thailand goes by nicknames 😆. And I’m totally like the person in the meme when it comes to watching Kdramas vs American movies. When the people in the Kdrama finally kiss or confess to each other I’m just like 🎉🙌🏼😭😍. I prefer Kdrama kissing scenes over kissing scenes in American shows. American version too graphic and “easy”. Korean version has a build up to when they finally kiss with the perfect backdrop and you know this is “it”. They are now a couple. American version not romantic. Clawing at each other, a little tongue, rip off the clothes and off to bed.

@@h1774 To me, kiss scenes in “True Beauty” are just right. I don’t mind when the girl just “freezes”. Sometimes they put their head at awkward angle and the guy has to bend down and tilt his head awkwardly to kiss her. As long as it’s not super super awkward like when Seo In-Guk kissed Jung EunJi for the first time in “Reply 1997”. That one was like he was pecking a “standup” (cardboard life-size image).
