6:00 checking the shoes. We do this in Portugal. We want the shoes to last a little bit for the kids. Never go two sizes up, but sometimes it's ok to go one size up. What you never want to do is buy a size that is about to become too small in about a month. So... always check where the big finger is. :D

I live in America and when I was young my mom would pinch tops of shoes before buying them to make sure they fit. Usually you pinch the top, wiggle your toes, walk with the on. It helps to use a size tool.
