In order to truly experience the magic of Krispy Kreme, you need to try the original glazed when it is hot. Best hot and fresh in the store, but decent enough if you warm it back up at home.

To me Krispy Kremes are too sweet, Dunkin Donuts is better, but the best donuts today are baked in bakeries of large grocery stores. However, back in my day (I just turned 72 . . so that was a long time ago) local bakeries made the best donuts, cinammon rolls, etc. In part the recipes of national chains have to be modified so they don't go stale, but my family actally preferred day-old donuts.

Dunkin donuts used to make their donuts in house, they can't because pf the volume to which they had to make, so they outsourced. While Krispy Kreme was making theirs in house, this is why they seem fresher because you receive them right when they come out of the oven.

The reason why they are skeptical about eating donuts is because of the stereotypes that all Americans are fat, and because of sugar indulgence. And donuts are a well known american dessert. But if you went to biology class you'd know that you can eat a whole box and can work out all the calories. It's the excessiveness and immobility that causes fat storage. This can be with many foods that contain fats or sugars. Don't let stereotypes keep you from enjoying the pleasures of life
