Hello people of Dimple!
We have the "Chair of the UN Entertainment Council". Likewise to many other North Koreans, who either use a cover name or a nickname.
He was in the North Korean Special Forces Army and was imprisoned in Thailand for 2 years until he arrived in South Korea in 2006.
He's currently a youtuber and apparently loves Aerosmith and Celine Dion!
ALSO!!
Heaps of you asked if you could send fan letters or American snacks for the North Korean soldiers/defectors to try, so here is the address!!
They would absolutely appreciate that!!
You can send them to:
25, Yeonmujang 5ga-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea
04782
We have also opened a Facebook Page!

My father owned a Dunkin donut shop for a while when I was younger. Yes, they are robbed frequently as they are usually open 24 hours. Most donut shops give police officers free coffee and donuts so that they will hang out at the shop. It’s a win/win situation. Except for the cops’ waistlines LOL

Laura Mau I also read that many shops even had a few seats reserved for police officers in the past. It makes me wonder if police academies have lessons on doughnut eating too.

@@Seele2015au haha! Yeah back in the 80’s our shop had a long counter that wrapped around and there were all sorts of regulars (including cops) that would come in and sit a spell. We didn’t have any designated seats though! 🤪 Unfortunately my own mother was robbed while my dad owned that place. During the afternoon shift. I worked there in high school.

It’s really hard to say no when a donut shop offers you a fresh donut for FREE! It’s also hard (but necessary) to get up and go exercise to burn off those calories.

@@Seele2015au The Reserved Seats was a program put into effect by the Community Patrolling Civilian Members. It was to give Community Members a opportunity to sit down with an Officer either to socialize or discuss issues in the neighborhood or personal. The program eventually fizzled out because Officers found that the majority of issues could only be referred to Social Services or the local Government Leadership. Neither of these agencies wanted to deal with the problems, so the program was scrapped.

As a retired Law Enforcement Officer here is the traditional reason donuts were so associated with Police. Their work schedule. We work 60 hours a week regularly, rotating shifts all 24 hours of the day, all 7 days of the week. Being able to find a caffeine fix, aka Coffee to stay alert is paramount, including the opportunity to use the toilet. Diners and Coffee Shops were often the only establishments that met these criteria. The Donut part is more of an Urban Legend.

Lol, as a retired Marine Corps veteran of 2 foreign wars i always enjoy these videos of people in Korea trying some areas of our culture, it gives me an insight into their own perspective which of course is different from ours. I have to admit, i've never been partial to sweet deserts, unless it's hot apple pie, you got to let him try that with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, to die for in my opinion. I would also like to see him try our american barbecue and get his opinion and impression of what he thinks about it. Not just one but an assortment of the different barbecue dishes from America, like ribs, brisket, etc; in beef or pork, i love both meats, lol. Well good job in your show and i look forward to seeing many more. Good wishes and long life to the people of Korea from America !!

Ok...I just want to say, this is so pure. Being in a country thats a prison, and to escape it, and really see the world for what it is, im in awe. Its like watching a baby take its first steps. And even before taking a bite he was willing to share. So soft spoken, but has his own swagger too lol. I loved watching this!

We should get this guy some Swiss chocolate. American chocolate is nice but I'm pretty sure Swiss has been rated the best

Oh, yes. I almost go mad trying to find authentic Swiss chocolate here in my country. Chocolate here is nice for beverages and sometimes has a spicy flavor, but Swiss chocolate is just so damn sweet and soft...

While I was in police academy, my class was told that during the 50's, cops on the late shift would get food from donut shops, because those were the only places open at the time. This was in San Francisco.

Love this guy so much. Always makes me laugh.,so sweet when he says he loves America. Not the impression I’ve had about N. Korean soldiers at all. He should be scary, not kind and sweet. So happy he is free now. ❤️ 🇱🇷

@@tigerjonn My city never had one. When it finally opened it was to far for me to get to and I heard they were too busy. You had to do pre orders. I ended up never going. Been 10 years or so now. We just got our first Chic fillet and it's drive through only. It was around Thanksgiving and had cars lined up on two streets for blocks to get to it. Went by a few days ago and it's still that way.Something else I'm not gonna get to try any time soon. Edit: So many typos. I fixed them.

That’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever heard! You can taste the United States! If you travel around AMERICA with that attitude, you will get a lot of good free food! Just tell them you are a NK defector and have never tried what they have before. Then, after you taste it, tell them that you can taste AMERICA. They will love you for that!

Have you ever noticed in all of the videos featuring NK defectors how honest and down to earth they are? No big egos or attitudes, just genuine humility and appreciation. What a shame these people are treated like animals by their government. Hope to see them all liberated.

you got the stereotype about police & donut in America partially correct, the reason the correlation came about is because in the 1960's,70's and 80's donut shops and petrol stations were the only businesses open 24 hours and they serve hot coffee and food all night for truck drivers, travelers and those working overnight hours so when police working night shift had a lunch break the only place to go is donut shop or buy some packaged snacks at petrol station. These are also the only businesses open for robberies late in the night so the businesses offer free coffee to police to help them stay alert in the boring night hours, but also to give police a reason to enter their shops frequently and surprise possible robbers. The police usually buy their donuts themselves, just get free coffee overnight, but this deterrent worked in America, nighttime robberies of such places is rare now. Anyway people just got used to seeing police in donut shops on the lunch breaks and other breaks because there was nowhere else to hang out or talk to anyone

I find it so heartwarming to see people from others counties enjoying American foods🥰. I too love Krispy Kreme donuts and have one located near me, about a 10 minute drive away🚙💨💨💨. The donuts are so yummy and delicious especially when they are first made fresh, they melt in your mouth😋. I’m enjoying getting to know how others feel about Americans and America. I live in Washington state right next to Idaho. It’s a beautiful state with beautiful scenery of trees, mountains, and many rivers and lakes. Many Blessings to all from my family to yours😇🙏🏻💞
