@@くろべえ-j6e Nintendo has patents for mechanics that are literally commonplace among the entire video games industry. And they “chose not to sue”. That’s mafia behavior. They “allow” you to use what’s theirs so long as you give them the proper “respect”. It’s extortion. It’s mafia behavior. Nintendo patented “throwing an object”. They made that patent after Palworld released and became popular. They made that patent to try to monopolize an entire genre of video games, after they saw how popular a potential competitor became. Nintendo didn’t even invent the “throwing” mechanic. I guess that means throwing rocks and grenades in video games not made by Nintendo is illegal now. Why does Nintendo own so many patents on common-place game mechanics in the first place? Palworld didn’t copy anything except the genre. The “adding guns” was part of making it different. Plus the actual open world, base building, survival aspects and mechanics have taken it in a totally different direction no pokemon game has ever gone. The mentality of “they should be able to own patents because they allow others to use them” completely falls apart the moment the owner decides to not allow others to use them.
