For anyone's information, the intro music is from Depeche Mode's 1980 demo cassette, when they were called Composition of Sound. It features the legendary Vince Clarke of Erasure/Yazoo/The Assembly.

Very cool technique. Thanks for sharing the 'fibonacci' of the ESX. Afterwards, the randomize feature could probably create interesting variation-patterns too.

@@GreatKukuruzo .. Hello. Load up any pattern. Listen to it. Hold Shift + Pad 2, "Move Data". You can scroll through three options; Move, Repeat or Random. Choose Random by pressing Pad 2 again. Select all tracks you'd like to randomize. It's often fun to randomize everything except the kick and snare. Press Pad 2 one more time to finalize, and listen to your newly created pattern. :) Thanks for watching!

Just commentined on ur mc808....but my partner has a mx and a esx ...which are by far the best boxs for live sets....they are both hear now waiting on two full rebuild kits.. it's to easy to beat the hell out of em in a big show...which we did for 10 years as the electro duo OortCloud....also released 4 records under the label militant science.. Basic point...no matter what you use ...if it works that's all that matters....every song we recorded was always a live take. 4 hands can get the gear moving...I've never arranged a song but he has a family and we can't party forever...but I can do alot more than I had to with the mc808 back in our duo ...i mastered the mc808 only after we stopped playing together..just takes time. The stuff u were playing sounds good..dark breaks... we did really dark electro bass mostly Miami bass and Detroit technobass... Cheers....we have a couple videos on here I think from our label militant science
@danieklerr2 жыл бұрын
Cool, I'll look for your Militant Science releases. As far as the SX/MX units go, I definitely wish Korg would have truly updated them for the newest Electribe versions. I think sound quality definitely suffers from the tubes' starved-plate design (Google that term; it's an eye-opener). I started to design a "false tube" which actually houses another circuit, a limiter/maximizer, the controls of which would be fastened onto a plate where the current tube-window is. Also, the sample-time is horrendous. I would pay $1500+ for a real ESX v2, with disk streaming from SD card, 128-voice poly, 6 outs and stereo ins, a proper slice engine, upgraded insert effects, master channel processing, elastic audio time stretch (a la Octatrack), 1+gb RAM and the same old ESX sequencer. Thanks again for watching. :)

hey Daniel, so how many distinct midi outs can you get out of this machine? Just 2, or is there a way to have more? (even single notes would be ok). Do you have any experiences using an external synth with esx? that would be a good subject to address. Many thanks and keep up the good energy :)
@danieklerr3 жыл бұрын
Hello.. You can get three MIDI channels out on the ESX. One for each of the two keyboard parts and one for all other parts. I'm actually planning already to do a video on sequencing external keys with the ESX. Thanks for watching! :)

@danieklerr Жыл бұрын
Apparently, yes. When using the tuner to get the values right, there was an issue finding the perfect D#, which required finagling. I just turned on the unit and tested it, and a +12 value is indeed a perfect D#. One of the best kind of Mandela Effects, lol. Thanks for sharing and thank you for watching :)
