The mini has the MkI and is noisy as hell - FS has both and you switch it with a "cheatcode" kinda action

If you dont care that much about about having a non vintage one - the M20M remake has become even more expensive than the original ones - because of easily accesible filter switch, has PWM, Sync, FM and Multiples ... as good as it gets @@VultureCulture

Oh the MS20! Might be my favorite analog. It's tied with the Korg Trident and I have yet to mess with an AX60. I have an OG 1979 MS20 that was modded to lie flat, which is pretty cool. I always gotta drop the frequency on the high pass, increase the peak; low pass frequency set to 12:00 - 3:00, peak wherever. Like you said - the peak trick. The ring mod wave is almost always in play too so you already know what my sounds are like, LOL. Fun trick for monosynths, particularly the MS20, is to run it through a Digitech Vocalist VHM5. Adds that vocal timbre and it's just a fun thing to do. :)

That's a great trick I have to try out one day! I love my Polivoks but I hate to say it - I think the MS-20 is the all time king of mono synths

That was a very endearing presentation. Though I'm knowingly the brightness freak, my heart this time unexpectedly beats for the MS-20. Why? Since the only genius I've ever personally (unfortunately online) met, revealed what hefty killer tones the MS20 is capable off, I'm a fan. Since I saw and heard (not just that music from him), I no longer rule out the possibility that aliens, in whatever form, are probably already among us. I'm serious about that. He flipped the cords so fast no one could keep up with the eyes and the whole crazy (approximately best) potential MS20 hides inside, got accomplished within the shortest time possible, what of course ended in applause at an LA music store afterwards. It's a forner berklee student that already got credits from Hans Zimmer & was hired by some companies but I'd like to conceal his name because soon he felt my admirance as annoying if not harmful for his career (No, there definitely weren't any sexual allusions. It always was about nothing but keys & music!). Though he"s presenting him as deeply religiious, for his carrer he would stop almost at nothing. It soon went too obvious that the notorious MS20 performance was meant for me by containing bombs, rockets, take offs, you name it, like nothing ever heard especially from that particular machine. To me it sounded like he was intending to kill someone with that MS20, BUT still, to describe that happening as mindblowing is an understatement. It was shocking ingenius. It actually was my fault because during my time on fb I mainly used it as an outlet. All in all, it turned out as mistake, because why should anyone be that dull to post online - he would not have the guts to tell the same in real life? A shot like that is preprogramned to fully backfire. I unfortunately lost him, for all eternity. The first months we got along great but in the slight world of social media, at the end of the day - one is nothing but digital data.

Wish you would've shown the portamento! Might not be your thing but they can behave very differently between synths! I would say the SH-2 over the MS-20 for the easy sweet spots, and that it's just easy to capture inspiration on. MS-20 for sonic palate of course and I have yet to try the vintage editions. I really did not like the MS-20 mini reissue at all.
