@AndyFirebladeMuzaАй бұрын
@speakingcolors no I mean desktop. Most manufacturers call the module version of a synth desktop. Google search Korg desktop synthesizer, all their module versions will appear. Then Google search desktop synth.

the keybed will always be the point of contention. i want this. i have a wavestate, so ya i get it and i'm not afraid of it haha. this is another 4 layer baby workstation with solo synth sized keybed. i'll wait for the module and then run it from my kromeEX73 and do anything with the 4 m/p layers from a krome combi and 73 keys. i have used footboards like the 12step to play wavestate layers below the pos keyboard's range. they could at least have stolen the take5 idea of bass split then drop 1 or 2 octaves to stretch the keyboard. but they didn't so i'll wait for the module. i really like my little korgs but they could be built better and smarter. not talking about the krome. its a beast. dirt cheap for what all it does. much nicer keybed too. wavestate keybed is vel sens, so how long can that toy plastic last thru intentioned harder playing. SMH...?

@AndyLeary28 күн бұрын
Each layer has it's own key zone, (and velocity zone), octave, and transpose. You can easily setup a bass split and have the bass an octave or two lower than the right hand using two different layers. You could put the same program on both sides of the split, but just drop the bass down a few octaves. Or, have a different patch for the bass. There is plenty of polyphony. BTW, multi/poly has a semi-weighted keyboard that feels heavier than the wavestate. It's the same key action from the Krome, with 3 octaves instead of 5 or 6.
@jjrusy743828 күн бұрын
@@AndyLeary thx for keybed quality verification. and thx for repeating my post info without reading my whole post. Regardless, so you do understand that that size keybed of any quality is BS for exactly those reasons, too much space wasted when you OBVIOUSLY need more keys or trickery to compensate. i will wait for the module thank you

Menu diving actually is pretty ok here, unless you like to dive very deep into the sound engine. That's, when the editor comes into play.

This is a modwave in different clothes. I prefer the sequencer on the opsix imo.I wish they would’ve just released an update for their existing (great synths) to add new filters- Korg- be more like elektron- & less like akai 🙏 or at least quit repackaging the same engine and do something new? A prologue 2(all digital osc and analog multimode filters)? Or A minilogue 2 -6voice? w/ ladder filter? Or hell, just clone your own EMX & ESX (1) but with usb and more storage & polyphony & new fx? Electribe 2 wasn’t it. Korg is so close to making an iconic piece of kit, but this ain’t it.😅
@GTChrisАй бұрын
The design is a step in the right direction, but imho it is a shame when a synthesizer lacks its own character. I owned and used many synths over the years, what grabs me personally is when you listen to someone playing a preset list like this and within a few presets you can tell if it's a synth you know or one completely new. You might disagree completely. In terms of energy, so not its sound. It is lacking newness, freshness, vision and never quite reaches an elevated level of what came before. The Korg Polymod reminds me of Roland's GAIA 2 release. People praised the hints of vintage design, but when that novelty wore off, they started washing up on the shores. Flooding the second hand market faster than any synth should.
@jumpstar9000Ай бұрын
Strangely the GAIA 2 has 4.5 - 5.0 ⭐ reviews everywhere. I also see Roland just dropped the price again. You can pick them up new for £499 in the UK now, which is incredible for what you are getting. I love mine, it's incredibly flexible, especially with the add on models SH-101, Jupiter-8, Juno-106. The multi poly does look like a direct clone of the GAIA 2 with some twists. Being able to upload your own wavetables is pretty cool, and the multitimbrality is very welcome although a bit strange on such a short keybed, but pretty cool with a separate controller.
@SethWeisfeldАй бұрын
For those of us who don’t have a room full of synths from floor to ceiling, a synth that can sound like many others at an affordable price is a very welcome option. I put my order in for this because I recently sold a bunch of gear and this will bring back a lot of different sounds for me. The beauty of this moment in time for music makers is the abundance of choice we all have.
@jumpstar9000Ай бұрын
@@SethWeisfeld Absolutely. I don't have a lot of space either and it is great to be able to pack so much into such a compact form factor. The multi poly is very high on my list to pick up right now and would be an excellent addition to my setup. And you are right, there certainly is a lot of excellent gear out. Spoilt for choice.
