Thank you. Yes I've had an issue with noise with it when I power it from the same computer as I'm recording it on, it's a usb ground loop. Assuming that's the problem you're having you can buy a 3.5mm audio isolator or a usb audio isolator. I'd recommend one but I haven't bought one yet. Instead I power it from an iPhone charger and I made a midi to 3.5mm adapter as a work around. I have it cabled in the same way as you btw

Pretty amazing, really impressed with the Gregorian chant-like deep bass starting at :11 . I was having a hard time re-creating it and found the Alt (Knob B) rotation did the trick for the VPM ("UPN" on the mini-screen) wave. What parameter is "Alt" changing to bring in that sound? The documentation says "varies by oscillator", thanks a lot Korg.
@ChrisLodyMusic4 жыл бұрын
Ha yes, the manual is super vague on that information for some reason! The VPM oscillator is an FM pair with knob A being the modulation amount and knob B being the modulation ratio. So a sine waves pitch is affected by another sine wave, with the pitch difference and amount it’s being affected set by the two knobs. High modulation (A) will sound brighter with a high ratio (B) and bassy with a low ratio. Does that make sense? 🤷♂️
@ChrisLodyMusic4 жыл бұрын
I made a whole video on editing the Waves oscillator by the way

// I'm using a mix of the VPM oscillator (read FM oscillator) the Triangle wave and the Waves oscillator.// How are you mixing different oscillators?
@ChrisLodyMusic2 жыл бұрын
Layered by recording do you mean? The NTS1 can only load one oscillator type at a type so this is just done with the VPM type.
@krisrhodes51802 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisLodyMusic in the description you said you're using a mix of vmp triangle and waves oscillators, I was asking what you meant by that.
@ChrisLodyMusic2 жыл бұрын
Oh sorry I didn't realise that was my own description. The way I've written that is super misleading sorry, I'll add an edit. What I mean is during the video I switch oscillator types starting at about 1:40 from VPM to waves and so on, the the overall effect across the whole video is a mix of those oscillator types as they combine through the long tail of the reverb. There is no mixing of oscillator types in the traditional sense

Nts vs volca keys. Which is better to buy
@ChrisLodyMusic3 жыл бұрын
Ooh tough one. They are really quite different from each other but I suppose it hinges a lot on how much dawless work you do or if you own a hardware sequencer because the Nts1 doesn't have one where the Keys does. The Nts1 is capable of a much wider pallete of sounds but is only monophonic Vs the 3 note poly of the Keys. I've ended up using the Nts1 more as an effects unit to process other dawless gear than anything else. The effects are excellent it has to be said
