I hate to burst everybody's expectations about this machine.. But there are several things KORG is not telling the public about this PA... The FIRST THING is this machine will NOT sound like what you are hearing on KZbin strait out of the box..... You will have to buy a good quality BASS amplifier of at least 100 watts or more to get anywhere near the sound and performance your hearing here on KZbin.. Additional studio speakers will work if amplified to 100 watts or higher.. I bought mine January of 2014.. The very first thing I noticed was the built in speakers and the 5 watt internal amplifier were totally unacceptable, even with the volume turned to 75% or higher it still sounded like an old transistor radio we used to have back in the 60s and 70s.. Also, what KORG won't tell you is that once you have significant amplification you will then spend a few months adjusting the sounds to your specifications, and there ARE literally endless possibilities here.. I have managed to eek out about nine commercially viable songs from this machine so far.. And like most of you interested in shelling out $2000.00 for a good song writing work station, you might want to do a lot more research to include visiting your local Authorized KORG dealer/music store, and sit down and actually play this machine before making that kind of expenditure.. There are other machines available at comparable prices and contrary to popular belief, most will require an amplifier to sound anywhere close to what you are hearing here on KZbin.. The styles are extremely limited also.. With a Yamaha you can adjust the swing of any style on the machine, with KORG you can't .. What is there is what you get.. You can change instruments and adjust the volume, effects, and drum kits just a bit, but that's it.. KORG says you can use the the KORG web site to upgrade and import more styles, but at a price for each style download.. I haven't tried that yet and some of the styles are kind of expensive... Other than these couple of complaints, the KORG PA900 I have is doing the job, even in it's limited state.. And like most of you who may have bought one of these recently, I expected a whole lot more for $2000.00...

+keith “Barbusie” smith Your comments re: sound quality are interesting, because I find the same of the Yamaha equivalent: PSR-S950. On youtube, playing back through a pair of JBL LSR-305 monitor speakers, the Yamaha sound spectacular. But through the Yamaha itself, sounds completely different, weird sound signature, boomy bass in the 130hz range, lots of weird peaks and troughs in the high end, causing this weird harsh sound. But a harsh sound that nonetheless might be popular or attention-grabbing in a music store. I also have next to it its predecessor, the PSR-S900, which is the exact opposite: sounds beautiful through the built in speakers. Really nice natural sound, even better than youtube videos. But here's the kicker: both sound ATROCIOUS through their headphone out! It's like there is a low pass filter on the headphone out. Have tried multiple headphones. I could restore some of the high end through the inbuilt EQ, but then some styles sound wrong with this EQ preset. Here is my guess at what is actually going on: Yamaha tunes each style to suit the built in speakers. Then when you plug in other speakers it sounds different and/or bad. Which is really disappointing because they should have used flat response monitor speakers to tune the sound for each style, and then afterwards, adapt them through a separate, optional EQ to suit the built-in speakers response. Overall I am a bit disappointed and confused, but despite this they still manage to put a smile on my face :) #firstworldproblems

Barbusie Yes, the recording here is quite believable I guess. Any arranger straight out of the box might be 20 percent usable. Rest depends on tweaks and your skills. I am still exploring my s970

Also I just wanted to add, that I don't think in this video it's the amplification causing the better sound , because the signal coming out of your PC sound is line level (unamplified), so any differences relating to amplification will be due to whatever amplifier is driving your PC speakers. Or, another possibility is it could be that the audio has been post-processed via EQ-ing and compression techniques to sound better than what comes directly out of the PA900.

When manufacturers build these keyboards the speakers on them are never going to be the best quality as when they build them they think about profit margins, the speaker systems on these keyboards are so you can hear them but if you want to hear what you keyboard can do and I mean top quality you will have to invest in a better sound system and put your keyboard through it.
