Great tutorial again Adam! Always learning new things from you. Would be nice to maybe see you together with Luke again one day. You did some very entertaining, educational and inspiring video tutorials together. I’m a fan of you both. 😊 However, you also do a very, very good job on your own!! I am very glad I follow you with all the Korg (Pa5X) knowledge. Thanks again!! The velocity demo was insane! Maybe you can do some videos about sound design. This is my first Korg arranger but the longer I play with it the better it gets. Besides the missing features in comparison with the Pa4X and some bugs this arranger is so massive with features that all other brand arrangers are baby arrangers. Even the Genos 2. It is big and have wonderful styles, but it still has only the basic arranger features, best for the home user that don't want to dig deep in a 2000 pages manual. I do 😅

Hey Adam, I'd like to share a cool trick with everyone. We know that we've got three uppers and one lower. If you don't need the keyboard to split, and want an additional sound. Set the split point all the way to the top out of range, find a sound you need for the whole keyboard. Turn off upper 1-3 hit split and lower on and there you go! An additional sound.

Thanks for another useful video Adam. Appreciate your suggestion to provide some help with using the slider interface, and would find this very useful. Having used a Pa4X for some years it seemed so much easier to get main / accompaniment volume balance adjusted - but that's probably me not understanding Korg's new layout properly? Bests

Could you tell me how to change a midi file into a MP3 in the Pa5x or where I can find it in the manual?

There is no conversion from midi to MP3, what I would do is load the midi file and do an MP3 record and let the midi file play, this will create an MP3 for you.

Thanks for your videos. From my VA76 I'm used to send midi ProgramChange messages from the UserProgram list (128 pr list) to my PC, in which they through the excellent program BomeMidiTranslator opens the relevant score file. So just two (or one) touch, and you have the setup and the score ready for play. Does the PA5X send midi ProgramChange messages from the Songbook or from some other list? I can't remember text and chord to many hundred songs, so a function like this is quite crucial to me. Thanks if you will answer.

I hope someone can answer this for me because I’m going crazy trying to find the information. My question is: When I have the keyboard set to “split”, is there a way to change only the octave if the lower part of the split??? When the keyboard is split, I notice that only the upper sounds are effected by the octave change; I want to know if there is a way to do the opposite.

Yes you can change the octave for any part in the tuning tab of the mixer. +12 or -12 for an octave shift.

An other question I wasn't able to find an answer for: I made a complete backup before the update to 1.3.1. After updating I tried to restore my own setlist. I was not able to find a way to restore it without deleting the new factory setlist. The LISTDB.SBL holds all the information of the setlists, but unfortunatly you cannot choose only parts of it to restore, - as if with other parts of the backup. Anyone any idea?

Why can’t you record the arranger in midi ,and be able to edit the different channel and parts ! Bass ,drums, parts sounds volume levels ,various sounds in the right hand parts. You can record to mp3, that’s when the song is finished. You were able to on all previous Korg arranger keyboards.If you make a mistake you can fix it. Don’t get me wrong it’s a super instrument, great gigging keyboard,. I have 5x and Genos . Have played arranger keyboards all my life , Roland , Korg , Yamaha. .Can go on and on.

No idea I imagine it will come in a future update, can't say I've ever used midi recording on board as I always use a DAW.
