How come PA5X is missing one of my favorite and most used feature Backing Sequence - Quick record. I'm very interested to know will the function be available with upcoming OS update or not. If not I will return the PA5X immediately. I love the PA5X but it's a shame that Korg has reduced a very important functionality.

Hi, I want to save a piece I'm playing using styles, either as a song or MIDI. I'd like to be able to edit the 16 tracks of my recorded song before sampling, for instance quantizing, changing tones, volume, etc. How can I record the song to the instrument's memory to be able to still edit it? I'm not interested in recording in audio rec mode. Is there a way to do this? I had a Yamaha Tyros 4 and there was a function for recording as a SONG. Can you help me with this? Greetings - Piotr

Why didn't Korg add loop recording feature like the one in Yamaha Montage where you can play some notes loop them then play along

Nice but with next update add Backing sequencer for midi. Now play style can be recorded only mp3 but I like record midi like on my old pa3x

Yes, for me is very important the quick recording, that way I can edited to perfect it but not obviously recording at live with lower quality mp3 and without editing capabilities. We really need a software update with the rest of the features that they skipped in this pa5x, I think about 8 years since the firs pa4x. (to much time to develop a software

@@2tarstudios yes, you got to the point, for me I can't do nothing if It doesn't have the quick record and editings so helpful when creating a song having the basic stile ready for the imagination to perform. I have the 4x that has it so whats the purpose in this if it doesn't have it ?

KORG. it is very important, with this keyboard software, to have, like all the older pa k boards, to have a Quick record - backing sequence, not only that, it should be better than the older pa4x, more complete and pro, like this kboard is, With that is why we don't cry to much of what it cost! but we need it ( full integration) to make better and faster music!

I do most of my recording on an external MIDI sequencer/DAW. What I'd like to know is how to record settings like track EQ and reverb hall parameters with a performance. These usually are NPRN values that can be dumped back to the Pa5X. I've learned that NPRN values 386, 387, 388 correspond to EQ low, mid and high pot settings, but other things like setting up the reverb I do not know. Also, there must be a way to record these settings as MIDI data so they can be loaded into th ePa5X when the project playback is started.

Can I add new tracks to an existing MIDI file while still playing this existing MIDI file? The idea is to simply hear the previous version of the song and add, for example, another instrument or percussion effect to it.

Is there a way to access the Record/Edit Menu through the MENU ? The Rec/Edit switch on my keyboard has malfunctioned

It is mandatory to have for the PA 5x the function Auto Punch that I could not find on the user guide. It exists on the pa4x. Maybe it is possible that it exists on pa5x too. We have to explore the workstation alive. Auto punch function is very important for musicians.

Yes of course, and should be in the recording side with also the quik record, but looks like they did 1/2 of the software and start selling the kboard and several years after pa4x, to many I would say.

No, it doesn't have that or almost any editing and the Quick record that all the others have, is sad, and nothing after 2 updates.

I would like to see a recording video guide starting from the function New Song recording. I didn’t understand if there is the important function Chord backing Sequence which exists on the Pa4x model. Nothing is written on the user manual related to the pa5x that I dowloaded from Korg USA. If somebody knows please make me know.

Here's a question for you guys: When you want to right your own style from scratch, did you guys add a note repeat option so when you right hi-hats for example and want to overdub the hats with 1/16 or 1/32 or 1/64 speed is that possible? If so can you guys make a video as to how. PA4x doesn't have a option for that.

PA5X does Not include Kaoss and midi conversion, The Style Creator Bot? Will they be updating so it can be installed? This is a major reason why I own Korg Pa.

I’ve owned a Korg pa4x for years, use it at my gigs. It looks like Korg took away the ec5 foot switch option???? I sure hope not! I use the ec5 to control the drums and fills in real time at ALL my gigs! Is there another option for control of stops, start, fills, a b c d sections with a foot switch of any kind? Man, I sure hope so, or I can’t buy this amazing new PA5!

yes I was expecting also that connection pedal but my surprise that they took it out :( I was going to use it from my pa4x to connect it to the new 5x. I think I saw video in another language and I think I saw the ac5 connector with on the other side a usb male connector, hopefully they can sell this cable, but don't know where

How do you save Upper and lower in a keyset without having to set it every time you change 1 of 4 key sets. Also the same question for split how to save the same split for all 4 key sets when recording.?

Sad, no midi fast style recording, instead of making better the software is lot more limited than the pa4x, they forgot to include the standard always there quick recording and editing, like all the other older pa keyboards, and also they forgot to added to the software update just released, instead of doing one even better more pro, and I'm waiting for it for 6 months but waited for nothing, I can't use it, I do mid recordings, but now nothing in this, do i'm going now to leave it like a picture in the wall?? sad!

For all the commenters asking about a quick record / chord progression independent of style -- isnt it just the chord sequence function? you can record/save chord sequence and use it with any style you want

Regarding my recently purchased Korg Pa5X, I kindly ask you to bring back the Song Edit feature, at least as it was before! There is currently no option for editing, such as inserting, deleting, or removing measures from a track, and all the details related to arranging a song. This is a very unpleasant surprise for everyone who relies on this feature for arranging. Also, in Style Recording Mode, please allow us to start recording from any preferred measure instead of always having to start from the beginning. It should work just like in Song Edit Mode, where you can choose which measure to start recording from! This is very disappointing, please consider making these changes!

It’s one thing to record an audio file in mp3 format and you can even sing to it. But for that much money, at least a Genos-level audio, in this case an mp3 recorder, would have been mandatory. If that’s all the PA5X audio recorder really knows, it’s pathetic!

Hey Korg Akai MPC 61 key has enetered the market n raised d bar ....Isn't it time for Korg to upgrade d Pa series to be able to do more professional studio grade work by incorporating a fully functional editable high quality audio recording section instead of mp3? Kronos has 16track audio which can be added to d Pa5x or Pa6x. If u scared adding fully functional audio cost may increase d cost of d workstation ...you can revive one of Korg previous audio workstation (Korg D 8 or 16, D 24 etc) exclusive audio mixer workstation with special sync functionality to be sold separately. Those who prefer could buy separately. That if Korg wants to b on top of this competition.

Its a pity, it has good sounds and styles but they just don't want to include the quick recording and editing to do songs that all the pa predecessors had. Needer in the recent update was included :(.

I don't know why it's so hard for these companies to not put a DAW in these arrangers... how do you know where you are in time? The Genos - which I have, is like this PA5X. Epic Fail. Started off so well, however., Thought I could get rid of my MAC. I'd like a visual timeline or track-like interface with at least 16 audio and 16 MIDI tracks. If you make a mistake in recording your song and want to replace a part of the song... you can't... unless you are RAIN MAIN... and like using 0s and 1s to navigate the score. Looks like we are stuck in the 80s. It's still a bummer. I must settle for the AKAI MPC 61 or the Roland Fantom 0. Which actually has at least a basic Daw-like interface. would really like these accompaniment styles and voices. Perfect for live performers, though...

Software update. The PA5X has all the functions of PA4X but it needs to be properly updated for the new UI. Wait.

You have to add a song with usb that u did in OTHER keyboard, not this cause you can't use the nice styles of this keyboard because doesn't have QUICK RECORD, and then you play the song done in OTHER keyboard and add a trak that you can not edit normally because it doesn't have all the standard editing features and no punch in - out so what's the purpose? record with all the errors in loosy mp3 format ? better buy an $100 mp3 lot better than this mp3

AGAIN, 2nd update and nothing, no quick record _ editing. 1 year waiting and the kboard sitting there unused since new. . I guess the software engineers are lazy or they can't do it.
