KORG WAVESTATE - Reviewing the Editor Librarian Software

How do you assign parameters to mod performance knobs using the editor? Every time I click on things within the editor I can't figure out how to assign things. I know I can use the hardware for it, but I want to know how to do it for the editor. This tutorial definitely helped me out a lot, but I still would like to know how to mod things to make weird glitches in my performance.

To import patches just open the Librarian software and go to File - Import and select the relevant WS file. Check out my store at dtcstore.company.site for all my Wavestate Preset packs.

This video started out good, but then lost focus and fell into sound design sketchbook. I would have liked it to focus on what unique features of the editor make the workflow easier, and how they work.

I think I covered quite a lot of useful information regarding the software. Adjusting things like the sample and timing lanes, key zones and finding multi-samples were all items that made workflow easier in my opinion.

Hi, would you know how to adjust the screen shape of the editor/librarian to fit the whole laptop screen in proportion? I have to reduce the view to 60% to display the bottom of the screen as well, which also reduces the width of it and makes it harder to see details. Thanks!

Yeah I think you're stuck with a fixed aspect ratio on that one. I don't use a laptop so never had an issue.

@@DavidThomCreations I can live with it, love the ability to move performances from one setlist to another. On the editor page, I can't see the ability to adjust the amount of reverbs, delays etc for performances. Am I missing something? BTW, the editor/librarian for my Cobalt 5S fits the laptop screen perfectly.

In the editor/librarian can the effects section of a patch be edited? I don't see one, thanks.

Yeah you can, it shows the FX at around 4:42 in the video, its one of the tabs at the bottom of the app. It's probably easier to do this in software rather than on the Wavestate

Hello David, any idea on where I can find this editing software for mac platform?, I can only seem to find windows compatible software.

Good thing but I cant believe its not a VST... Even in 2007 the Korg M3 editor was vst

They now do have a vst and sounds identical to the hardware. Only thing you will be missing is real time knob turning to make more unique sounds.

Does anybody know how to record wavestate sounds directly to DAW in PC without connecting to audio interface?

Can't be done, WS needs an audio interface to record. I recommend my Focusrite Scarlett 18i8.

This is going to sound like a really, really, really dumb question, but what the Hell 😂 When you click on the envelope options at the bottom of the screen, or the Vector Synthesis options, the keyboard disappears. How do you get it back ? Ive tried clicking all over the place and that envelope screen won’t disappear. I want to get the keyboard back. Its going to be really obvious, isn’t it ?? 😮🫣

Yeah not quite sure how you didn't see this. At the far left it says Keyboard and Set Up just click that and you're back.
