@tyleryesta1 You can definitely create a mix of up to 44 sounds (36 on the Sound Select dials, plus eight Favorites) from any of the sound packs, or from your own custom sounds, but accessing more than 44 sounds at any one time requires a computer.

Hi, nice video. Once the sound packs have been downloaded, Is it possible to mix and match various sounds from factory/sound packs 1&2 on the instrument? i.e take various sounds from all 3 packs and save them onto the keyboard to use when not hooked upto a computer? Does the editor of the korg sv1 currently work? Since on my korg sv1 it sounds too slow and I can't edit it, what is the correct way to connect it?

among my favorites of the SV1 can not hear the two sounds together, such as piano and acoustic bass, can be a problem from the fact that I have just the headphones and not speakers of the stereo outputs? sorry for bad english..

Always a good presentation, although this time I wish he'd have played the new sounds more. Ever since the initial announcement, I've been curious as to what new sounds are actually being offered. Hopefully Korg will at least post a list of the names of the new presets (as a general idea of what's going to be available).

do you need to be connected to the computer in order to use these sound packs?? I understand you need the computer to transfer the soundpack, but after that, do you still need it? how can i switch between this soundpack to the original sv1 sounds?? is it possible? Sorry if there's too many questions, I've just learned that soundpacks for my keyboards exist!!

Once the you load the sound profile, your keyboard will be set that way until you load another profile. If you created a backup using the SV1 Editor, you can reload it again from your computer. Looks like they have sound pack 1 for download on their site, if you lost your old settings. Hope that helps.

The SV-1 has a weighted keyboard, which means it plays more like a piano than a synth. It is like a piano. It is not like an organ. It is like a piano. It is NOT like an accordion. @3:03 i can't help but notice your referance to transposing down 1 octave. How do i do that? I don't have sound pack 2 yet because i have windows 7 (but thats a whole new problem) Is it really possible to transpose down a whole octave?

I know that the SV1 does not allow layering sounds, so there is no "Piano + Strings" out-of-box functionality, but since this is a big deal for me, i want to know if it is possible for me to sample a Piano + Strings and add that to the sample of the keyboard and play this? Or if there is a Piano String in any of those sound packs, can anyone help?

This video is for Sound Pack 2. The previous pack, Sound Pack 1, included some layered sounds including Piano+Strings. You can download it where the Korg guy speaks at 1:01 in the video.

Is there a way of transposing a full octave lower? I find most piano's are set towards to higher end, without alot of bass. My band plays in -1 transposition anyway, so i guess i'm looking to transpse -13 instead of the available 12.

@@tychopoupeye7730 Use the Open button (which looks kinda like a C on it's back with an arrow going up from it), then go to the folder that you downloaded the soundpack to and select that file. He does that in the video.

Do the original presets come back when you exit the software? I got scared when you said "Overwrite The Existing Presets In SV1" ....I imagine that's why you do the 'Backup' procedure?

Once you overwrite them, the keyboard operates with the new sounds, without being connected to the computer or having the SV1 Editor being open. Good idea to backup your current profile before loading the sound pack in case you want to retrieve something later, thought the new sounds are nice. Also, I see that Korg's website has Soundpack 1 also available, in case you need to get something back excluding any of the 8 button presets that you may have altered.

I've tried almost everything and I can not install the OS 1.2. I get an error message readin : The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.installer.pagecontroller error -1.), I'm running OSx 10.6.8 on my laptop and on my Imac and neither one works.. I can't seem to get in touch with Korg for support. Anyone out there knows whats going on?? PLus when I download the sound pack, the file is only 16kb ??

I can't seem to get the damper to sustain my notes long enough... for one, i have to hold the notes longer than normal (than a real piano...maybe 2x as long) to get just a little less than enough sustain. I have calibrated it (it just means calibrate from positive to negative polarity...right? there's no other adjusting that you can do)... please help Korg!!!

Have you ever played a Hammond organ? Do you know how it works? Because i think you would be surprised at the similarities, although limited in selection the Korg SV1 organ sounds are only a selection as an add on, organ really needs to be played with a non weighted keyboard anyway,,. if you're a purist you'll need two types of actions anyway.

Useful video! But let's address something critical... The percussion on the organ behaves improperly. On a real B3, the percussion only sounds when there's no key being pressed: If I play a note, the percussion will sound, but if I hold that note and play another, it will not sound again. On the SV-1, the percussion will sound if I'm holding a key or not. Hire a human B3 player to test your patches before you release them, or go play with the NORD gear you've probably got laying around.

Hello there I have some problems with connecting my sv-1 to my windows PC. I plugged it in over USB and I installed all the files from the CD wich I got with the Korg. But my PC still doesn't accept it and the Korg Editor and any other music programm doesn't notice the instrument. Can somebody help me? Cause without getting my Korg connected to my computer the piano is useless for me :( Pls help by the way im using Windows 10

I agree, I am really happy with the one I just got because for me it is a sub for a rhodes, but it would be nice if the the acoustic pianos where also good. Rhodes ++++, acoustic piano kind of disappointing ( sound pack 1, going to old the pianos from SP 2, hopefully better)

I don't know about that darker tine Rhodes unless you can warm it up with the editor. couldn't they add a realistic Mark 1 sound. I mean come on korg, I get the mechanical noise and thats cool, but if they're trying to convince some of the nord crowd or Rhodes purest that this is a serious contender in the space race than they NEED to put their ear to the speaker. its close to a mark 2, but really?.. a mark 2 is the only option for a rhodes sound. this is upsetting to me cause I wanted one.

No, on a well regulated piano ,you can play a note very softly & that's how the note will play & sound..."ppp". On the sv1 it's more of a thud!! There's something wrong with the keybed on the sv1. I was having a discussion on another forum about it & someone described it & the problem perfectly. I just can't remember where it was now. Needless to say, they are just crapolla....don't touch one, if you want my advice!

Okay, Korg, please, abandon the organs until your sound designers realize an authentic Hammond sound doesn't have note phasing! That's why the organs suck; not distortion, percussion, key click, or vibrato... it's the note phasing! It kills the experience when the Leslie rotors ramp up & it sounds like the organ's running through a busted flanger.

The Leslie simulation is a complete let down which is really inexcusable for a keyboard that has such great retro appeal. All class but no sass :(

I agree, though have yet to try and tweak in the computer software. The old M3R (and M1) had way better Leslie simulation especially the transition from slow-fast and fast overall. The fast on the SV1 out of the box is heinous.
